I'm with you man. I've never owned an auto car myself, so this one definitely cuts straight to the heart. As sad as it may seem, at least we will always have the aftermarket. Won't be cheap but at least it'll be possible.

Does any manufacturer still use automated single-clutch manuals? They seemed to have been phased out; with the old Aventador being one of the last ones.

That's just a conspiracy theory. It's all about the $$$, that's all. Toyota couldn't give half a hoot if you were putting a VR38 and AWD in your Supra in video game land. If their market research says that their involvement in Forza isn't making them profit, then they won't make a license deal...

What would be the advantage to pairing a "psuedo-manual" like this to a DCT vs a TC Auto though? The time it takes you to move that lever is still slower than a shift on either a DCT or a good Torque Converter. In the end, that thing is just a pointless gimmick. It doesn't seem like it would...

Also, I'm sure that the 550 lb/ft that the M5 makes is much less destructive going through a torque converter than a DCT.

Again, amazing how somebody who would appear to understand the car industry, literally hasn't the slightest clue on how the development process works. Seems to be a recurring theme here.
