that would mean the committee won, Tada lost his battle, and that the car is largely an amalgam of mediocrity IMO
let us hope that is never the case...
it looks as though my initial thoughts of it being 5x120 were not correct... cross referencing some other information confirmed this.
thanks for the info!
It is possible they will weigh the car down with stupidity and that is not something I'm privy to either way at this point, but hopefully they will let Tada do what he intended.
Lol, I was just saying the front bumper is more Enzo-like than the Lambo, if anything, but there is still very little parallel aside from the F1 inspiration in all 3.
I'll quote myself from last year: the current test mules are 2900lbs +/-
There's a reason that msrp is up there; you're basically getting a Cayman for way less money.
the original plan was 6cyl high trim cars for the U.S.
we will have to wait and see what Toyota has in store for anything else... still too early for everything to be decided.
BSM is only optional on select models of the current Toyota lineup; however, the same was previously true of lane assist and they ended up making that standard in 2017, so BSM will likely be standard by the time this car is released.
A U.S. based executive told me last year that, "if I have any say in it, GRMN will never be on the car."
He was referring to TRD being available and apparently there was some cartoon character in the Flintstones named the Great Gazoo that caused an aversion as well.
As far as the dimensions...
my regrets if any, and lets just base them off the latest spyshots/renders to spare me me headaches, is that the car doesn't have the necessary length to pull off what I think would fix a few body line issues. for lack of a better term, the car is kinda constrained and it kinda bothers me...
haha, funny someone should mention that because the FT-1 as it sat was already a lot more money that many likely assume, in materials alone. a production version with full running gear and electronics would easily be pushing GTR prices and possibly even NSX. that's double what the project was/is...
yep ^
the R35 GTR is one of the better examples of forget it and go or toggle manual mode and have full control of crazy fast shits via the paddles.
modern autos are getting closer on most of that without some of the harshness, but the downshifts are AWFUL, and they are simply not quite as fast.
I've always wanted an S15, so I could see going for an I4 turbo 6spd.
I told them from the get-go to do 6spd regardless of what the other options were and if that wasn't possible DCT, but you cant only assert so much influence.
no, seriously though, auto over DCT? lolwut.
