I'm actually buying the new Infiniti Q50S Red Sport for my DD... with intake, downpipe, and tune ($1200) they're making 450whp+ and doing 11s in the 1/4 lol.
You can even get them used for $32k
no, thats a good point. I often fall victim to the including everyone in North America together mentality, but you're right.
from what Tada was saying one day, I think this car was designed from the get go to be kind of a loner in that it wont directly compete against anything according to him...
that's how I'd prefer it. I'm just here to talk about cars and the intricacies that are involved when they're being developed. Who I am doesn't matter too much, especially given I'm no one out of the ordinary; it's about the information and how exciting it is.
yeah, the 4cyl car is not coming to North America. I've been hearing for too long that it's only going to the 6cyl and I believe its for the exact reasons Guff gave, plus the fact that Americans always have to have the best, biggest, most powerful. some companies offer the lesser models, like...
:)
It wouldnt be super hard to track down who I am, and as information for this car naturally gets more specific I wont be able to divulge anywhere near the same amount of information for that reason. The point has always been to just kind of let me slide by so that I can keep things...
Customer: wow, these TRD parts are crazy expensive and seem to be the same thing that third party companies are offering
Toyota: it comes with TRD stickers and doesnt void your warranty
Customer: .........zOMG, here's my credit card and a kidney!
agreed on the TRD thing; although I'm sure there will be TRD parts and maybe even a special edition at some point.
and yeah, I'm fairly certain you and I know many of the same people, so this entire discussion is comical in more ways than one lol.
It's something I'd have to ask, but I have a feeling they don't know the answer to that aside from a guess.
Wasn't the mkiv like that, where it basically just came fully loaded because that's what dealers ordered?
A "concept" should come first, but the car should be pretty close to production ready form versus something more outlandish like the FT-1.
Production is set to begin at the very end of next year, so the real question is when will they debut the concept? It pretty much has to be Detroit or...
it's incorrect information.
Joel Luz of TRD USA and ToySport fame confirmed the 2JZ was entirely modified and refined by Toyota in house.
All they did is bump the blocks deck height for the longer rods and they took the Yamaha head design from the 1J and opened it up to flow more for the...
the FT1 was built on an extended and widened ZN6 platform, so it makes sense it was around 2900lbs given the lightweight materials and electric powerplant. I dont know anything else about it though.
that would be pretty amazing if the prices were in that range.
remember that most of this stuff isn't set in stone, especially since marketing ultimately can play with price too. maybe the car will end up being much cheaper than what I was told, and that would be a situation where I'd LOVE to...
yeah, the reasoning is a bit complex, but basically BMW and Akio/Gazoo threw wrenches into the gears and ended up pushing back devlopment. I covered some of it in other threads on here, but I dont even know which one or if it was more than one lol.
correct.
When I was hanging out with some of the engineers in LA, I actually asked about how the car would be dispersed and when it's tentative release was supposed to be.
They said that marketing pretty much decides releases dates on their own once the car is done with testing, but they had no idea on...
I was fairly concerned with that actually, but somehow I've ended up not having to sign any NDAs for the information around this car. There are some other projects however where I'd be liable for anything and everything.
Wish I was cool enough to be Morizo haha.
