Hey guys, let's keep this thread geared towards specific questions for the Tokyo Motor Show. That way, Admin didn't have too much trouble finding all of our questions.
We can continue the manual vs auto discussion here...
It's actually a very clever system! I definitely recommend reading on it. The CVT allows for gears 1, 2, & 3 to be split into 3 ratios each, thus creating a 10 ratio transmission with 4th gear being a dedicated final overdrive.
It remains to be seen if this system makes is way into a Supra though.
Oh, man, totally forgot about this one until I read this
Are we gonna be able to do BMW style European delivery? I'm assuming it's a no, but I figured it's worth asking.
Just an FYI, discussions about politics, religion, and other generally "polarizing" topics almost always end in complete shitstorms on forums. Of course, we are a small community here, and there isn't a rule against it, but from my experience on other forums, it's generally never conducive to...
1. What competitor's car(s) was/were used as a benchmark for this project? (Eg. Porsche Cayman was used for 86 Development)
2. In 2016, a manufacturer-registered MKIV Toyota Supra was caught testing on the Nurburgring, along with some Lexus F-models and a Porsche 997 911 GT3RS. Was this MKIV...

Some more randomness, a photo from the day I filmed that Supra video. My buddy brought out his FD and we did the obvious thing and took a thousand photos...
Yeah, trailers always do movies injustice, imo. This was a wonderfully clever film with a brilliant soundtrack to go with it. Plus, Edgar Wright's editing style is my favorite in Hollywood. You can tell it's one of his just from the cuts he uses.
Speaking of movies, you guys watch Baby Driver? I'll admit, I am an Edgar Wright fanatic, so I've seen it twice already. Def. one of my favorite recent releases.
Okay, so this was kind of random, and I'm really not great at photoshop, but does anyone else think that the car would look way better with a body color A-Pillar? I don't like the black A-pillar look on any car, and especially not this one.
Well, fwiw they all sound exactly the same, so there's a fair chance they'll have the same engines. Also, they sound like old Gran Turismo fake engine noise, which is not a compliment lol.
If I'm honest, that interior "leak" just looks like a random Bimmer interior with a bad photoshop of a Toyota Steering wheel and tC gauge cluster. Not to say that's not what it'll look like, considering BMW interiors are the same awful black yuck in every model.
Also, most of the new exterior...
I wonder what colors the Supra will come in. Perhaps they'll bring back some of the MKIV colors that people go crazy over? RSP, Anthracite, Quicksilver, DJG, etc? Toyota's Blue Crush Metallic (Camry and Corolla) had some serious RSP vibes but I believe they've discontinued it after 2017 or so...
Thanks guys! I've always urged people to see at the other side and look at the more philosophical argument of creating a car like this. In the end, the blokes making the car are human, and the emotion that they feel towards both this car and the cars that came before it plays a huge part in what...
