Why do people have to word things like that. I find the new rumors to be a little odd, but than again other car makers have taken a similar approach with cars like the Firebird & Trans-Am.
They do have a B48 that makes 300hp. But for me it is also about image. This is Toyota's flagship sports car. IMO it should have no less than 6 cyl to be a successor to the 2000GT/Supra line...

It has the same goal as the original car; an exotic that you can use everyday. Yes, it is totally different when it comes to the hybrid and AWD part, but what does that have to do with using an already establish nameplate? If we want to get technical, this joint project with BMW is going to...

1. Selling it as a Scion in the US.
2. No other engine choices to pick from.
3. No turbos from the factory.
4. No other body styles to pick from.
