The car should recognize the change automatically. You just have to go through a short drive cycle (found in the tire settings) and you will be good to go.
There is too much traffic in my area to even make an attempt to race. However, there are lots of twisty roads. I had some guy in a Charger think he could keep up with me through the turns. Ya that lasted about 1 turn then I couldnt even see him.
Also, got it aligned for the first time. Things were off and i don't blame it on the springs. Front right and rear left toe were off. If it was the springs, it would have been all 4 corners having issues, not just 2. Drives much better now. Next race is in less than 4 weeks to test it out.
It's my wheel/tire combo that throws it off. That is my track setup that is about an inch shorter than stock. If I threw my stock wheels and tires back on, I'm sure I could tell.
If that isn't how it works then how is that real life results that i have seen many times? I don't care about what F1 does, we have normal passenger cars, not multi-million dollar race cars built for every aspect of hp possible. They don't care about longevity as long as it makes power and last...
I was going to make this big long response but its not worth it. I made 2 things bold in your quote.
Surface temps are the main thing. So you said
Moves heat faster, yes but not as much heat. Example (using generic numbers here) - Say the bearing temp is 300 degrees, thin oil might only cool...
Lol you are saying the same thing as me in a different way. I didnt want to get all technical but can if you would like. Heat is a byproduct of friction but more friction isn't technically a bad thing, to a point.
This is a perfect example of why an engines cooling system carries twice as much...
This
I would come down this weekend but I will be lowering the Supra tomorrow and most likely stopping by the local races Sunday. We will get something going one of these days.
You and @SD_MK should make a trip out my way this weekend since you seem to have nothing but free time haha. Lunch/dinner is on me. After a mountain cruise of course.
@zrk don't hate me for this. It's just that I'm more convenient being near-ish by (remember what I said about long distance...
Oh man if you are running a stage 1 tune you need some straight 100 weight! I kid I kid...
My personal opinion is that 0w-20 is not for track use. 5w-30 really isnt either but its better. Oil has 2 main goals, to keep metal from metal contact (load capacity rating) and heat transfer. The oil...
