may I ask, what did you think we would be getting in terms of looks? is the appearance the main thing that has swayed you?
have your insiders given you any clues to hint that the goodwood car doesn't have the top-spec, CGI block engine?
pulled these from an interview. all puzzle pieces.

Yeah, fair points.... interesting. It'd be nice if Toyota could throw us a bone, a hint, anything. Something tangible to build some excitement (or the pessimistic approach - kill our enthusiasm and interest) until release. Maybe a lap time, power/weight, official mass, 1/4 mile time... just...
That's fantastic Jeff, thank you!! If you ever feel the need to move to Australia, maybe there'd be a job here in the engineering department for you - because clearly the information I was told wasn't as accurate as hoped.
Interesting. My interpretation of Tada's comments seems to suggest that the low COG and 1400kg (approx 3080lbs) remarks were in respect to the six? (Also Moto Miwa's comments)
The problem is, the hard facts we have on this car is very, very little:
- Made in Austria
- New platform, developed...
Fairly confident that the GT86 is it's own Aisin box too, not the same as an S15 unit as the internet widely believes (not in response to anyone here, just trying to dispel myths)
Had one on my desk for many months trying to do a gear kit for it
i'm in this boat. I have three supras and an AMG and am out of room. The A90 seems cool, but I won't buy a car without driving. Some cars are awesome on paper and just do nothing for me - while some are crap on paper and I adore them.
absolutely, but A70 had received insider info that the iron block was not actually based on the B58 architechture, but something else.
But you are right - whatever the engine source, from both a vehicle systems integration perspective, or manufacturing perspective, it makes sense to have all...
Appreciate your efforts!
I am very much hoping for all the I6s to be the iron block, or at least the same base engine. Otherwise we'll end up with a Supra with a "good six and a shit six"
Even if that shit six is spectacular, no-one will care, as will be overshadowed....
Fingers crossed!
