Because it's basically a mini muffler and it's tight down there. They also have just resonator versions but they don't reduce as much drone.
Here are some photos of it on my Evo:
I added one of those vibrant muffler resonators on my 700hp Evo 10 and it brought the drone down a TON and zero loss of power.
Not sure if you would be able to fit one of those under the Supra though.
Yea, I was looking at picking up a GT4 before the Supra, but as you know, the prices got out of hand. I'm super happy with my choice now. In fact, with my recent round of upgrades, the supra should be a GT3 killer now.
Since you live close to me, you should also check out Phils Tires. He is...
They basically have the same CF and temp window as the Club Racers so I don't see why you couldn't drive them on the street. Most "track" pads have that disclaimer.
999:
200-800c
0.42-0.59CF
Club Racer:
300-800c
0.42-0.55CF
These are the part numbers I found for the 999's:
Front: PMU-P9Z723
Rear: PMU-P9Z625
Looks like they are slightly higher FC (0.59 vs .55) but same temp rating compared to the Club Racers. I might upgrade to those depending on how the Club Racers respond to my added power this season.
I wonder...
Thunderhill was my home track for over 15years. I've done thousands of laps there. Technically Sonoma was closer but I enjoyed Thunderhill more as it's way less dangerous.
There is only one wall at Thunderhill and it's in the straights. I have seen roll-overs there but I can say that about...
Yes, that is why I love them. They make almost zero sound on the street.
I actually ran the same pads on one of my evos over a decade ago and I used to use that car on track, daily driving and to ski resorts in 20F and colder.
Where are you located? I frequent the same tracks and we have a couple other supra owners here that do the same.
I feel like I have my supra setup right to the edge of being very capable on track while not sucking to drive on the street. If you are close, you are welcome to come by and check it...
