So going catless DP with no tune aka factory tune on a MT car was better than the JB4?
Trying to make sense of this and I had no idea MT folks were running into these issues.
You're not going to break anything by hitting it unless you use a hammer and/or are Thor.
If you want to compare to mine, I just got my car here and will be at the San Clemente CnC this Saturday.
I do have an AutoSolutions SSK but I have no noises going into gear.
Yea so it's unsure if that will happen and the Supra and Z4 is selling kinda meh these days new so I wouldn't bank on anything crazy for 2025 or 26 even.
If you can snag it for a deal, I'd do it.
I've had ample seat time in a 718 GT4. The Cayman is a tremendous platform.
GLWS and I would have definitely traded wheels lol
Edit: How are you getting a new GTS? I thought the order books were filled and all allocations have been filled too...
Even factoring in two piece rotors?
Because the M drilled rotor setup is fucking garbage.
And they're heavy as all hell.
Also for a car this size, you would think you wouldn't need anything more than a good 4 piston caliper, decent pads, good fluid, and some 2 piece 355mm fully floating...
It was never designed to be a drag racing car out of the box haha.
This is to be expected but at least you were able to make a few passes in the process.
I'm sure the more drag/roll racing folks will chime in on tires, wheels, etc.
Compared to a 718 GT4, it's not that brilliant especially for the money. Like if you're north of $120k for a 981, just pay more for a 718.
That's where I was going with that.
And it's funny, I was going to trade my A91 for a Carmine Red GT4 with buckets in Texas lol.
Drove a local one with...
I considered trading my A91-MT with delivery miles for a 981 GT4.
My thoughts:
It's kinda a half assed GT product with the motor they chose to use.
Interior is cramped and the buckets while awesome, are not something I'd wanna use often.
Shifter is great.
It's not particularly fast, hell...
Thanks!
There is a little bit of NVH from them. It's not crazy but if the car is just idling with no music or HVAC on you can hear it very faintly.
Ron only does BMW specific shifters so the option would be to 3D print a BMW to whatever adapter in your use case.
It's a BMW ZF gearbox thing. And yes BMW's are notorious for this.
I have not had any issues whatsoever getting into any gear after this kit has been installed.
For reference, the stock setup locked me out of 2nd gear twice and I was on the phone with Ron.
When it goes into gear, you feel...
