That's because dealers really don't have a clue when they'll get a supra in. They only get what Toyota will send them. You can't order one. They find out about their allocation when Toyota posts them on the website saying they have an incoming allocation.
Imo experience talking to people...
Ahh you are the one that bought the 22 they had.
I'm from that area. I spoke with them a few months back in was 1k deposit. They said they had one person in front that only wants specific colors manual prem car. But tbh they get 1 or 2 supras a year so kind of waste of time imo. I...
I wonder what toyota did to it vs BMW. if I had to guess they just changed the rear shift bushing. But there's other ways you could stiffen it up more.
I'd talk to Sound performance or Boostin. Unfortunatly everyone is swamped with work you are going to have to wait. If you just need basic stuff done I use arrowhead automotive out by plainfield. They are old school gear heads but know cars very well. They work on everything from model Ts...
I really want this car but trying to hold out longer and save some more cash up (with interest rates so high) before I buy something. This car is as good as buying a new one.
Watch the savageese video on the GR corolla. Apparently you can't do much with it the rear/ center diff gets hot and it turns into a fwd corolla. Sounds like a modern quality toyota... Same one that belongs in the pile of rusted/ broken frame 4 runner, tacomas, and tundras. Best thing...
Right. Clutch replacements make me nervous to own a MT. cost, parts availability, unproven, if it can't last at stock power good luck adding power.
Seems like MTs are selling at sticker really fast still. last month there really hasn't be much inventory coming in the USA.
I haven't taken delivery yet but on a few lists for a manual.
Former MKIV owner. Had a few bmws since then. Loved the FT1 concept the 2020 model i was so so on. But after driving a MKV supra and being more involved with a GT4 bmw race program. BMW and toyota coming together is an...
Interesting. maybe the corners it makes sense but the manual gt4 is gearing limited to 201mph. Top speed it hits on the ring is 173mph. The PDK GT4RS only gets another 10-15 mph over the gt4/ manual.
The First GT4s they were trying to protect the 911 sales. Porsche was very concerned about losing 911 buyers in the 991 era. Because the cayman was such a better car for times/ racing. The gt4 manual has awful gear ratios. Many people re gear them. They are super long from the...
This was interesting. It's obvious the suspension updates were the difference between the years not so much manual vs auto. Every year they keep improving this car in stock form.
I'm surprised with the gearing in the manual supra 3.46 just seems like to much. to short. Maybe bmw only had...
Watching the Supras VIR lap it had a few mistakes. I bet auto could be a few secs faster + a better lap. maybe a 2:52 in the supra at VIR in stock form
I think it's easy to compare them when you are looking at sticker prices since the supra comes about 10-14k more. But markups on the supra are minimal to a few thousand where as a Type R is just insane. 10k-20k markups. If they were the same price I'd go supra. If you could get them for...
The new civic type R is made in Japan. Previous gen was built in the UK. TBH I hate the s2000 for many of reasons. I'd take a new type r over a 4cyl supra and majority cars out today. 6cyl supra tho I'd take over a type R.
The new type r really doesn't drive like a fwd car.
I'd like the CU more in person but these tones of gray get played out fast. concrete gray colors. More rare sure but I think i'd go with a more normal color like white/ red over gray colors.
Toyota dealer hour south had a 2022 in tungsten at msrp. Dealer down the street bought it then marked it up to 65k. It's a 2022 and an auto. No one is paying a 7500 markup on that car.
If you guys knew what real gt4 race cars cost. 185k isn't bad. We run a few m4 gt4s in various series they are more than 185k. Tip 200k+ You should see what a gt3 m4 costs... half a million+ if you can get one. These are spec race cars for a class in low supply and high demand...
You are comparing US sales to global production.
There are 11,239 US MKIVs
6977 were Turbo US MKIVs.
Globally 45,223 MKIVs made 92-2002.
US MKV is 18-19k sales so far.
IIRC Toyotas MKV goal per year was 12k globally and 4k in the US.
I have no idea what the actual global numbers are.
Not much room but still more than a 911 has.
At my driving position in my MKIV there was 1-2" behind my front seat and rear seat. It was really a 3 seater.
