Itās nice weāve got a lot of options down here. I just wouldnāt know what to do with that ? grain. After this track season, Iāll have to look into it. Just for fun. If itās not too much work or evasive ?
But yeah, she was shuddering a bit before it happened. You could definitely feel it comingā¦. End result, new tight bolts & it doesnāt do it anymore, lol. Great post @BadCat! I wish I would have saw your post prior to this happening. Will definitely check mine for now on!!
Realize you guys are probably talking about racing rules. But just to clarify HPDG groups renting the track down here, some group you can use turn signals, hence drive with windows up, some groups you canāt. All of them you can drive in the rain, it is Florida, and thatās the funnest imo. Itās...
I actually crossed shopped the Supra and Z4. I personally love the look of the Z4. I know Iād loose some rigidity but having a convertible MX5 is a blast. Then I ābuiltā one on the website and saw the end price (with same features) and weight = ? = Supra the clear winner
How cow forgot about this great thread! @zrk How does a stock 93 octane JB4 Jesse tune Supra keep up with way higher hp cars on rolling starts? Is it all torque?
Thanks and was expecting torque to be a big part. The low end grunt is insane! Coming from a S2K where you rev the crap out of her and need that VTEC, Iām nowhere near redline in this car on track. The c7 guy said he overheats in summer. But to Chevyās credit, they are going to buy him a bigger...
Indeed āļø
The only difference on my Supra from yours, that I can tell, is the custom JB4 tune, sway bars (front and rear) and every SPL part. The straights were honestly the only thing we were trying to figure out. I was quicker in turns 3, 4, and 5 at Sebring for example, and he was hauling...
Love the Vette! Legit question yāall might know. Me and two Vettes were running about the same times at Sebring this last weekend (one current model the other a Z06 prior model). Weād follow each other, not race, just watching each others lines/approach at different corners, entry and exit...
Drive your car down here and track with us in the mean time amigo! I used to trailer my S2K. But it sure is nice to be able to drive the Supra to the nearest (or dearest) track.
Iām spoiled with all the room in this thing!
Good point. Makes sense. I know thereās going to be more of us out there. Love this platform. I want to get a couple pros in my car to get some professional feedback, on lots of things. I know red Supra Jason is the same way (donāt know his username on here). More importantly, I canāt wait to...
Iām sure Feal would be great! I was lucky enough to have a profession track team I piggybacked off of when I had my S2K. If youāve got a really good shop or race team, go for it! Theyāll get you custom spring rates and work with Feal. And it sounds like you guys know someone. Even better. They...
I always do the springs shortcut. Donāt know why I never learn just to get coilovers because thatās what I eventually do ??āāļø
Edit: Springs are great if youāre not doing lots of tracking
Love my Phantom! But did finally get PPF and ceramic coat being a matte color and tracking the ? out of her. Everyone at the track assumes or asks if I wrapped the car ?
The beginner group is just that. Mega beginner. I even got my wife to do it. Sheās been tracking for a while now. But I will say, sheād be the last one on track to ever get in an āaccidentā, run into someone or something. Gonna sound crazy but⦠I feel itās safer than driving on these crazy...
Gas mileage. VW says 40 psi for my wifeās GTI. It felt awful, imo! Dropped those puppies down to 36 psi (cold) and wow, what a difference. Put my track tires down to 24 psi yesterday (I usually start at 28 psi cold). But thanks to a pro driverās recommendation, much better! The grip was insane ?
