Man if they can keep the cost and weight down⦠sheāll be a track beast indeed! Which was my sole reason for going with the Supra. Power to weight with some money leftover to add track goodies. This M2 really looks promising

Wow ? Impressed with all your research and gusto to get er dun! Mine will be very similar (still in the shop) - as I bought it for short daily commute and track days. Appreciate sharing your updates and progress ??
I got the AWE track as well and so glad to hear I donāt have to worry about the exhaust valve crap. I want it open all the time and couldnāt imaging going to some dadgum computer setting just to keep āem open ? To each his own but I didnāt want another family car when I got this.
Didnāt know that. Thatās awesome our cars come with DOT4 fluid! Not that anyone here is going to drive their Supras like a Camry, hence Toyotaās thought to use it? Or the fact that they come with one free track day sounds more like it ?
Guess Iāve been more unlucky than most. My RX8 drank oil but that was a known use issue for the rotary engine. I still enjoyed the car immensely on track. Other cars Iāve tracked never used that much but they did require more than usual.
Update: 5k miles, lots of tracking, no additional oil...
Same with my wifeās GTI. Have a pancake compressor and she just adds a few pounds every month. No visible puncture, so we definitely need to dunk it one weekend. I hope itās not as complex as @Twundyās issue⦠If so sheās got 20k miles anyways. So itās almost time to just buy 4 and be done with it.
Iāve got the same color. Let us know what you find out. Iād personally go to my detail guy that does ceramic and PPF and get his opinion. Then Iād hit up a body shop guy I know and trust. Iāve got two I love. So yeah. Thatās what Iād do first⦠good luck??
Glad to hear it! If @Rocksandblues doesnāt need it with all the tracking he does and Iām not pulling 1000HP like you, the last thing I want to do is spend mo money! I just want to get this puppy on track now. Free October NASA date set for me. Iām stoked ?
And keep up your straight line thang...
Canāt hurt to change it and glad you found the menu to reset it! Besides, itās always good to top it off if/when it gets low. And as long as itās not silicone based (DOT 5), you can mix and match fluids. The majority being DOT 3 found everywhere and perfect for street use.
Good points for street tires. Tire rack has a good review section where you can find all the different criteria your looking for in a tire. And sort by price. Youāll be amazed what you can find that check which boxes youāre looking for.
Example of a set of 4 all under $1000 bucks.
True. Not on our cars. But tons of vehicles use em in the rear. Which makes me wonder what our manufacturer brake bias is. Would think at minimum 60/40 split front/rear. Some people dial it back even further to 70/30. Hence those solid rear rotors.
Vented rotors, which are what we have, are awesome for track use. Slotted or drilled are nice until they crack. Which Iāve seen happen a lot! If they are changed often enough. However that rarely happens with solid or vented rotors. Hence most of us who track will use vented rotors. They are...

LOL. I do the same with my MX5 and Iām still a car length shorter than the no. 1 vehicles out there in USA = monster trucks and SUVs. But that still doesnāt stop my wife or daughter running over the dadgum thing ?
Most people do top it off. Great thread to check out that goes over multiple reasons why it may not be reading correctly, if you haven't seen this one yet:
