  1. The all-new BMW 2 Series Coupé (G42) + M2

Man if they can keep the cost and weight down… she’ll be a track beast indeed! Which was my sole reason for going with the Supra. Power to weight with some money leftover to add track goodies. This M2 really looks promising https://carbuzz.com/cars/bmw/m2/2023-bmw-m2-competition-coupe
  2. Underdonk's '21 GR Supra 3.0 Premium HPDE Build

Wow ? Impressed with all your research and gusto to get er dun! Mine will be very similar (still in the shop) - as I bought it for short daily commute and track days. Appreciate sharing your updates and progress ??
  3. Catless DP makes less pops

I got the AWE track as well and so glad to hear I don’t have to worry about the exhaust valve crap. I want it open all the time and couldn’t imaging going to some dadgum computer setting just to keep ā€˜em open ? To each his own but I didn’t want another family car when I got this.
  4. What did you do to your Supra today?

    Tires in. Slowly getting there.
  5. Brake Fluid service @ 10k miles????

Didn’t know that. That’s awesome our cars come with DOT4 fluid! Not that anyone here is going to drive their Supras like a Camry, hence Toyota’s thought to use it? Or the fact that they come with one free track day sounds more like it ?
  6. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Guess I’ve been more unlucky than most. My RX8 drank oil but that was a known use issue for the rotary engine. I still enjoyed the car immensely on track. Other cars I’ve tracked never used that much but they did require more than usual. Update: 5k miles, lots of tracking, no additional oil...
  7. Death of ICE cars

Neighbor has one of these. I swear it looks better in person ? If push comes to shove…. That’s an EV I could compromise with ?
  8. Oem tire losing psi over time. Anyone else experience this?

Same with my wife’s GTI. Have a pancake compressor and she just adds a few pounds every month. No visible puncture, so we definitely need to dunk it one weekend. I hope it’s not as complex as @Twundy’s issue… If so she’s got 20k miles anyways. So it’s almost time to just buy 4 and be done with it.
  9. Phantom Matte Gray scratches

I’ve got the same color. Let us know what you find out. I’d personally go to my detail guy that does ceramic and PPF and get his opinion. Then I’d hit up a body shop guy I know and trust. I’ve got two I love. So yeah. That’s what I’d do first… good luck??
  10. 2022 3.0 oil engine situation (over-consumption) questions

Glad to hear it! If @Rocksandblues doesn’t need it with all the tracking he does and I’m not pulling 1000HP like you, the last thing I want to do is spend mo money! I just want to get this puppy on track now. Free October NASA date set for me. I’m stoked ? And keep up your straight line thang...
  11. Brake Fluid service @ 10k miles????

Can’t hurt to change it and glad you found the menu to reset it! Besides, it’s always good to top it off if/when it gets low. And as long as it’s not silicone based (DOT 5), you can mix and match fluids. The majority being DOT 3 found everywhere and perfect for street use.
  12. OEM tires replacement

Good points for street tires. Tire rack has a good review section where you can find all the different criteria your looking for in a tire. And sort by price. You’ll be amazed what you can find that check which boxes you’re looking for. Example of a set of 4 all under $1000 bucks.
  13. brake pads for track use

True. Not on our cars. But tons of vehicles use em in the rear. Which makes me wonder what our manufacturer brake bias is. Would think at minimum 60/40 split front/rear. Some people dial it back even further to 70/30. Hence those solid rear rotors.
  14. 2022 3.0 oil engine situation (over-consumption) questions

Just for a point of reference: https://carfluidpro.com/how-much-oil-should-a-car-burn-between-oil-changes/
  15. brake pads for track use

Vented rotors, which are what we have, are awesome for track use. Slotted or drilled are nice until they crack. Which I’ve seen happen a lot! If they are changed often enough. However that rarely happens with solid or vented rotors. Hence most of us who track will use vented rotors. They are...
  16. Official Oil consumption thread: Car excessively burning oil?

Maybe already stated here in this thread but it is 90 pages long after all... How Much Oil Should A Car Burn Between Oil Changes (carfluidpro.com) "You can consider that your car is burning oil fast only if your car consumes 1 quart or more oil just within less than 1000 miles. If not, your...
  17. Death of ICE cars

Some of switching to 100% Mandatory EV's flaws are that they are politically driven, poorly thought out, huge cash startup, maintenance, infrastructure, raw materials and further inflationary fuel to the fire due to heavy subsidy (taxes). Why not revisiting nuclear power instead? Just an...
  18. OEM tires replacement

Tirerack summer tires only. The rating are very in-depth and reliable: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?filtering=true&frontWidth=255/&frontRatio=35&frontDiameter=19&rearWidth=275/&rearRatio=35&rearDiameter=19&autoMake=Toyota&autoYear=2022&autoModel=GR Supra...
  19. Driveway Labs - Product development!

LOL. I do the same with my MX5 and I’m still a car length shorter than the no. 1 vehicles out there in USA = monster trucks and SUVs. But that still doesn’t stop my wife or daughter running over the dadgum thing ?
  20. 2022 3.0 oil engine situation (over-consumption) questions
