Agreed there, brilliant drive by him, and benefitting from some good luck on the safety cars, red flag, and other teams' strategies.
This year's WDC is virtually over. I think Lando needs the winter to sort out whatever thing he's got in his head and clean up his mistakes if he wants to contend...
It's good but hasn't been "open 20 seconds in ~10 laps good" like the RB19 was especially at the beginning of 2023. I think it's going to be a proper McLaren vs Ferrari fight for the constructor's next year.
It's possible they sandbag for 3rd for more aero time since none of their upgrades...
Not directly Supra-related, but drove some cars via Turo I would cross shop with the Supra while attending a friend's wedding. C7 Grand Sport and G87 M2 (both stick).
The C7 definitely makes for a better GT car than the Supra with how good the Magneride suspension felt in touring and even sport...
Damn what a prediction! These last few races have told me exactly why Lewis is jumping ship, and I think Vasseur has put a lot of the silly strategies in the rear view mirror.
I'm expecting a rule change coming at some point, definitely for 2025, changing how "controlling" the corner is...
I kind of think Colapinto's performances are really making Audi reconsider their options for the second seat; Bottas seemed to have been the front runner, but Colapinto's performances, age, and probably lower wage demands really would make them think if Bottas is the best long term option.
The winter could change a lot, but I get the feeling that Mercedes are looking ahead to 2026 with the new regulations, and the Newey aero impact will also be more pronounced in 2026 than 2025, given 2025 development started before Newey even signed for Aston.
Red Bull should drop Checo, since...
It appears to me attackers tend to be on the wrong side of "forced another driver off track" due to how entitlement of space works. On the turn Lando got the penalty, I saw a lot of simplistic arguments on reddit saying "Max was ahead at the apex and isn't entitled to leave space", but watching...
He's so much better than Yuki. Yuki's overrated imo. Still making simple mistakes in his 4th year.
As for the race, as usual, stewards turning a blind eye to Max forcing Lando off twice
Also, your definition of fun here is very subjective. I felt the GTR to feel way too safe, like the car's computer was driving it more than I was, and that's the same feedback I had from a few Supra owners who moved into GTRs after.
How? The GTR is like 3900 pounds, and the auto 3.0's are 3400. Manuals are roughly 100 pounds lighter than that.
I've driven a GTR and a C7 Z51 package (roughly the same as a Supra) on track and can definitely feel the weight difference.
Yeah Bellevue C&C never really took off. Lake Washington gets quite nice cars out regularly, and a lot of people with eclectic taste in cars. It's more of a meet and greet than a cruise. Best to show up earlier than 10am if you want parking though, especially on nicer weather days. It's a small...
I got the sense that the results don't really reflect Danny in the car, because the car's been shit and the strategy has been Ferrari-esque. There were a lot of races post-Miami where Danny was making passes, and then some weird strategy call undid it all. The qualifying form was poor, but he...
It would be interesting, but how would you try to maintain the "spirit" of racing instead of trying strategies like sitting in the pits to get into an open track window or using a car as a rolling "block" to slow down competitors (since the concept of impeding kind of goes away during the race)?
