Depends on the driving mode and how much you're pushing it. If you're keeping it tame, the exhaust note is just a bit deeper and throatier. It really burbles and pops if you're downshifting around 3k RPM in sport mode. Definitely a little tamer than catless, and it would also be better to hear...
Quick recommendation: you should also replace that bleeder screw in the bottom left near your coolant cap. The stock one is prone to wearing down and causing leaks. I think HPS offers a titanium replacement.
I spend a lot of time reading and learning from you guys, and jump in occasionally with stuff I've learned, too.
However, the car's in "low power" mode for the winter, so less posting for me as well.
Not sure what you're exactly asking, so here's a couple of similar questions and answers:
Does having the safety features ON alter performance?
In a sense, yes. Traction and stability control will cut power if they detect a slide to regain control of the car. Advanced drivers will turn these...
I ended up getting some MX72s. I'm hoping to check out the fitment in the next couple of weeks once I can get a free weekend to do some maintenance work.
It was a bit unnerving the time I took a 911 GT3 around a track. I felt like I was sliding out of my seat and the instructor was casually telling me, "Yeah it's got more to give"
From what I've seen and experienced, the threshold of grip is far higher with mid and rear engine cars, but the leeway beyond that before it all goes to hell is far less. It's basically why I want a Lotus, 911 GT3, or GT4 to complement the Supra one day.
Mechanically, you're buying the same car. So far The question becomes, do you think the extra $6k or whatever your markup is will be worth the exclusivity?
I'd personally say no. Most CF trim parts are cheaper in the aftermarket, and you'll always be holding your breath about accidentally...
I haven't had any issues when in sport mode on the track. It'll hold the gear. I guess if you were near redline and gave it throttle, it might upshift, but I haven't had a corner to really see if that applies. As for manual mode, you're shifting gears. It'll downshift if you drop too low in the...
I did mine at the end of the break in period at 1200 miles, then 5000 and every 5k after that. I would do it even more frequently if I tracked the car more often.
Yup, in normal mode, it'll upshift quickly for fuel economy. It'll downshift to be in a better part of the torque band for acceleration if you give it generous throttle though.
I just fitted these: Sticker Fab A91 Supra Style Rear Decklid Stripes - 2020+ Supra|FTspeed . The fit is great!
The big stripe is on the 4th defroster, and the small stripe is 1.5 inches down from there.
I see you're in the PNW -- I used my 3D carbon fiber set, but I got a gloss black set as...
Sounds like a fun event! It would be cool to see some Portland folks after the Olympia meetup last year and come down to PIR and check out the track too!
Passing during the HPDE comes down to how confident you are. You may get some commuter car drivers coming out to the HPDE, so you may get more passing in than you think. There was a Tesla Model 3, a 4Runner, and a Rav4 Hybrid at my HPDE last year.
The main reason I'd recommend dry days is that...
