I'm in! I've been working on finding some nice driving roads and would love to learn of more. Leavenworth definitely appreciated our cars' Bavarian heritage last time I went.
It was a great meetup! Hope to be at one soon!
Update: Took the car in over the weekend -- the Supra tech told me the latch has no tension whatsoever and is very likely why it is stuck. They weren't able to solve it without Toyota engineering on the line, and have asked me to bring it back in on Thursday to try again.
Hills I guess? Stop and go traffic also is pretty bad for fuel economy but even then I can get 20-22 MPG, so maybe that's the difference.
In sport + manual, I'm not constantly redlining it. I will go into 7th or 8th on the highway if I'm just cruising, and really only drop it into 5 or 6 if I'm...
Hey guys, I closed my trunk after taking some stuff out and the latching didn't sound normal -- I tried to reopen it with both the release button on the door as well as the fob and the trunk is staying locked. No "trunk unlocked" warning shows up when I turn the car on. I can see that the...
92 octane (haven't found anything higher near me in WA). I get about 280-300 miles to the tank in sport + manual which includes city driving. Decided to cruise in auto for the boring highway stretches of my last spirited driving day and got about 350 miles to the tank. I wouldn't be surprised if...
I'm surprised most places haven't really compared the '21 Supra. I'd really love to hear what others think of the upgrades.
I'd also like to hear what the '21 does on the Nurburgring. Still unsatisfied that a Civic Type R is quicker.
25 in Seattle, 9 years driving experiment, Supra's my first car (stored in private condo garage). Clean driving record, no tickets or accidents.
Paying $216 a month through Allstate.
I have to agree on the frequency of them. Not as many in Seattle due to gas prices, smaller parking spots, etc (the usual), along with people here having a taste for imports but there are tons of them as you drive into the mountains/countryside.
I've had some positive interactions from an older...
Had the same issue about 2 months ago, sounds like a rock in the rotor -- mine got caught about a mile from home and fell out in my garage as I was pulling in. No issues since.
In terms of looks, the Supra punches above its weight. I feel like you need to get into MSRPs with 6 figures (definitely a few exceptions like the C8, Zs) before you get current model cars that draw the same amount of attention on looks alone.
This is a personal opinion, but I think Teslas look...
I wouldn't worry too much about the kids. Them thinking the Supra is a Z4 tells me they read the brochure, no more. Coupes are very different animals from convertibles, and that's without going into the tuning changes Toyota made on the platform.
They're probably also the types who would be...
Yeah I've got that vibe from them. "Must only maintain rivalry with other American brands and ignore all else". I'd put $5 they'd scoff at an HSV GTS-R pulling up alongside.
99.99% of my experience has been positive -- I've had people complimenting that car in all sorts of scenarios -- drive-thrus, gas stations, pulled up at stop lights. I get looks from most imported cars (Evos, R35 GTRs, Ferraris, Mercs, Porsches) and they all love it.
The only hate this car gets...
For the price reason you mentioned (although not LFA levels of pricey), its very likely we won't see a 3JZ Supra with a motor supplied by Toyota. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a GRMN version with the S58 motor that the M4 uses.
