Right in that spot I expected out of your build, Eli. E1R or Ignite Red should push you into the 1150-1200 range. I imagine you're going to leave torque about where it is?
Are you pulling any timing with the shitty fuel?
No, it's the other way around. There were dozens of them around when I bought mine back last November, then certain folks started calling all the junk and scrap yards, buying them all up to make a profit on resale.
The ECU from a wrecked X5 is "worth" $400 bucks. It was for years. Now that...
I had events to get to. :)
But this is how it works. If early adopters like me (I did this process in November) don't pay these prices up front, we won't ever push towards a more affordable solution.
Definitely a viable option, and unlocking absolutely adds value. It opened up the race season...
I definitely don't agree with this statement as blanketly as you do. There are different applications, and some definitely do not require a bigger heat exchanger to keep the manifold cool.
No, I understand that (though nitrous isn't explosive [yes, the bottle can burst from pressure if you don't have the proper venting]).
This is why it seems to me, as I mentioned, it's a very niche product. You want to push the engine reallllly fucking far, but not so far as a second power...
There is a point of diminishing returns with IATs. If the car isn't pulling timing, and you're high enough horsepower to where freezing IATs are making a difference (through added oxygen), why not just nitrous?
If nothing else, it's a very very niche product.
Quality itself is fantastic. It's as described. They do run small. The XL fits me, I usually wear a large, though I could handle 2X in this particular shirt.
Yeah- I didn't mean it didn't work (clarified that in more recent post). It's just a really expensive solution that isn't really necessary, adds a ton of overhead, and maintenance to an already expensive system.
Well, for one, most 'race cars' that are going to need these types of temps delete the A/C. (Yes, even Drag and Drive cars). EOSpeed even has an A/C delete kit for our B58s. It's maybe not fully a "gimmick" because it will work, but why bother with all that. You can easily build an ice box for...
