Unfortunately, I think all the buying a MKV as an investment/future classic type talk on here is very biased and quite frankly, plain incorrect. The MKV is great for what it is (price/performance) but I'm not sure the general car community will ever agree. This alone is likely to see its appeal...
I'm not the world's greatest driver but every upshift in my Type R is perfect. And if it's not, it's because I'm being lazy or I otherwise fuck up the shift. And that's kind of my point. The mechanism (especially in 2023) shouldn't be more smooth than not, it should do its job perfectly. Every time.
Good question. I wonder if the 1-2 shift is shit in the M2.. or any other BMWs. ?‍♂️ I haven't seen any reports but I haven't looked, in fairness.
The manual in the FN2 Type R is a good deal newer than the S2000 and it really is sublime - Pretty sure you guys never got anything like it in the US. My understanding is that the gearbox is pretty much regarded as the gold standard under Porsche money.
I do agree that the Supra box needs to...
Checkout Snapseed on iOS/Android. I have Photoshop but find that Snapseed gives me great results with near zero effort. I have even started exporting my proper camera photos to iOS just so I can run them through Snapseed!
After the initial excitement of discovering you can add shortcuts, you'll quickly realise they're mostly useless, lol. I sat there programming them until I realised I have no real use for any of them. CarPlay FTW.
As for the "performance meter," I predict that after the first few times you use...
I planned on turning iMT off immediately but other than me blipping the throttle between gears out of habit, I agree the iMT is actually pretty good in the Supra. Actually, it's better than that. It hasn't annoyed me once and it does the job well. This is one thing Toyota definitely got right...
It's probably not you. The gearbox in the Supra isn't as good as people suggest. I suspect they have come from an automatic gearbox or a very poor manual one so they think they have stumbled on gold. They haven't. My 15 year old Type R has a much better gearbox - And I don't mean when it was...
Interesting project -- Well done.
I would suggest you keep look into that handle idea as it seems like a good one. It obviously adds thickness but curious to know how it would actually look on the car. Also, I would suggest making the Toyota logo larger. Unlike some of those super expensive...
