Honestly, I think it’s pot luck. Nobody at Toyota knows and nobody at the dealer knows so they just pump out average numbers hoping they’re right. 12 months plus or minus a month seems to have been about right but things may have changed?
The entire Toyota ordering process was embarrassing...
I had a tiny LED USB light plugged in for a while and had a similar experience. Every now and then it would just stop shining for no good reason. Probably just a piss poor USB implementation in the car.. like the wireless charger. ?‍♂️
This. If we keep accepting this business practice, they'll keep doing it. And since they're the only game in town, we are, as you succinctly put it, "by the balls." And never mind paying over RRP.. I was annoyed that I didn't get a discount off RRP.. especially after waiting nearly 12 months! ?
I'm not sure but specifics of the UK model but I know the exhaust in the Aussie model is gimped compared to the one offered in the US. Also, there's a thread here about the MT perhaps disappearing from the UK altogether which you may want to check out.
Yeah.. I don't believe everything I read. Think about it for a second.. a large company like BMW doesn't just do things it doesn't have to.. especially if it "[doesn't] want to." There is far more likely a fiscal reason behind it - for example if Toyota footed the development bill for the MT...
Light disappeared after a few days and stayed away. Honda wanted to charge me some ridiculous amount to diagnose it but she's been back to reliable af so yes, good as gold.
Not only that but the PPF I got back then was the much thicker 3M Venture Tape. I believe this was primarily used to protect helicopter rotor blades! Today's car specific stuff just seems to be a cheap and (much easier to install) marketing gimmick by comparison.. at a much higher cost, of...
How did Toyota push for the Z4 to get a manual exactly? You can't have it both ways.. Did Toyota develop the manual independently or did they get BMW to develop it for the Z4 then lift it?
Other than keeping the line open, I think the Z4 trajectory has little impact on the Supra.
I completely agree. I suspect the Supra will go on hiatus for a while until something completely new is developed. I certainly don't expect a completely new car will appear as soon as the current model production run ends in 2025.
I paid around $5k for a front end wrap on the Supra and lets say I'm lukewarm on the results. It's not god awful but it's also not worth the money paid. Back before PPF was common, I had the front of my car PPF'd for about $750 and I honestly think both the film and install were much better back...
Yeah.. you could be right.
There's just too many variables though. It could be a single car paint anomaly; a coating/PPF; a minor model year paint colour change; lighting and/or angles.. or as suspected, some kind of fading over time.
Or a combination thereof. ?
I find the colour changes drastically depending on lighting and angle. In fact, without post processing, the yellow sometimes looks wrong and nothing like it is in person - particularly with my regular iPhone camera settings.
You're welcome. Seriously.. its not even just Supra tax. AliExpress is where Amazon sellers buy from and then upsell to the masses. AliExpress FTW.
Also, I should've warned you.. AliExpress is addictive as you can spend $20 and get a bunch of things that would be worth over $200 anywhere else...
