Fair enough. Mine won't be driven that way so its a non issue. I just don't think it's reason enough to knock an arguably more fun and engaging transmission.
I also think demand is slowing both because of the model's age and also the way the economy is going.. not much money around for toys these days.
And as for the delays, etc.. surely those MY24s are almost ready to be announced and begin rolling off the production line.
The whole autos are for pussies thing is an obvious joke but like the Hitler downfall meme, it's fun to keep it alive. I personally can't stand driving an automatic (or clutchless manual for that matter) so like the poster above, without a manual transmission, the Supra was just not on my radar...
PMd. Also, on my paperwork, my car is listed as having been built on 01/02/23 but I suspect the day is just a placeholder of sorts and not indicative of the actual day it was built.
Looks like it will be around 11 months from ordering to delivery. Interestingly that is about par for the course here in Australia - They quoted me nine months but most people seem to be waiting around 12 months now. And in fairness, I have had the opportunity to pick-up Supras that were close...
All the details regarding dates that I received from the dealer turned out to be wildly inaccurate. I don't think it was my dealer's fault, just the backwards Toyota Australia system and how they get and update their information - I literally found out my car was on a boat by accident. By that...
Maybe in a future model year. And likely Japan only.
But ask yourself.. why would the race spec GT car continue to run a B58 while the street variant gets an S58?
Just doesn't make any sense.
Saw this on the MKV A90 Supra Club of Australia Facebook group.. might affect some of you.
Also, I changed the name of the thread to remove the year.. MY24s here we come.
And? Just because it's OK doesn't mean it is good. Besides, without logs you said it yourself:
You realise this applies with or without Ethanol in the mix right?
PLA-CEBO.
Not really. The information in this thread is confusing and there has been no clear link made between running any mixture of Ethanol vs pure 93ULP causing a net benefit. In this thread, all Ethanol has done is add an unnecessary layer of complexity on what is arguably a simple no nonsense mod...
