I drove past another stealer today and dropped in to see if I could get any more information.
They confirmed that a) Nobody knows shit; b) They can take orders but there's no allocation, specs or pricing details yet; c) There is no ETA for anything, even pricing/spec information; d) July is...
I know you're trying to do the right thing but in this case I think the right thing to do is to just go nuclear. No need for a positive example when the one given is so poor. The bad news is that clowns that do work like this aren't likely to even give a shit about it and even less likely to...
It just sounds like you got a dud salesperson. Unless the MY22's come in blue - and I'm fairly confident they don't - what they said just doesn't makes any sense!
I think this isn't unusual by the way. The first stealer I visited to inquire about Supras was clueless. He flat out told me there...
I know this is petty but I can't stand that yellow.. heritage or no. If the Supra yellow was that colour I'd definitely be going any colour other than the yellow!
Just watched this video of a MY23 MT doing some laps.
Interesting to see the gear displayed in the middle of the rev counter and the same lame shift lights are in operation - thought they might've improved these for the manual release. ?
And it all sounds a bit pedestrian too, although I got...
I completely agree, it would be a very strange move.
And this too.
I can't argue against those points.. of course, stupider things have happened before so who knows.
In motorsport, maybe but I guarantee you nobody at Toyota is losing sleep about a Nismo making an appearance.
I know Toyota have always said there were no plans to introduce a manual transmission.. blah, blah, blah. I firmly believe this was always a planned development and not a "reply" to...
Not at all. I’m not sure why Toyota and Nissan “fans” think the two brands care about what the other does. Sure, they’ll watch the market but beyond that you’re just living a fantasy.
If there’s money to be made, they’ll make it.. but I’m pretty confident that any GRMN release will be Japan...
It's not looking good is it?
Mods: I think the Nissan Z Competition Link should be changed to something more appropriate, like: https://www.718forum.com/ ?
I have no insider information but I think you may be right. And I don't see a GRMN release (other than maybe in Japan) or a future "Toyota" engined Supra either. It just makes no fiscal sense.
Yeah not here in Australia. The STs were never competitors here for example. The only real competiion was the Focus RS, Megane RS and the Golf GTI/R. And up until very recently, the Hyundais weren't (and for my money still aren't) considered relevant.
As of the last generation Type R, Honda...
They're all hot hatches though and so competing in the same space. Honda is just being stubborn (and cheap) by not moving to an AWD system. They moved away from being NA because of emissions, and they will move away from front wheel drive eventually too because of performance. Not many hot...
Well the only official information I have seen is that the manual cars "arrive in Australia in the final quarter of 2022," as per Press release above. My dealer in Melbourne is still giving me a March 2023 estimate but who knows really.. at least the deposits are refundable.
Hopefully we'll get...
Well I've put a deposit down on a manual, so it's going to have to be a MY23. And unless they're already on the boat - which is possible - the MY22s are surely no longer being manufactured. Besides, the blue is a MY23 only colour anyway. ?‍♂️
