I'm assuming you didn't buy the car new, and unless the BMW tech themselves wiped the valve cover, those stains look like someone simply spilled a few drops on the cover and wiped them off during a previous oil change. Hardly unusual.
If this person is a full-time BMW tech, this would be one...
Having owned both, yeah, the MT sits sooo much higher on the highway, 1000+ RPM difference. It's part of the overall "high-strung" character of the MT car, which I happen to love.
Am I going to the grave without my black & white 'Supra' rug?
Should I buy a local 99 Viper I'm looking at?
EDIT: Too late, I'm now a Viper owner. What could possibly go wrong?
I don't know what country you reside in, so did they ever even sell the updated "A91" version and/or six-port in your location?
In the US, anyone that prefers the MY2020 over the MY2021+ is an uneducated non-owner, or an owner swimming in an ocean of copium. Making the "BuT uNlOcKeD eCu" or...
Is OP's car a manual or auto? Just remember that at least one center console trim panels may not fit correctly if they're not from the same transmission option..
What spare setup do you have? A full-size wheel & tire, or one of these?

Post a photo of the actual window sticker, or you can give me the VIN so I can retrieve it. It still sounds like a solid deal, and at least you're not upside down on the trade-in.
Factory paint protection film? What's the MSRP on the window sticker? All-in, true "out the door" price with taxes & fees, that amount doesn't sound too bad in today's market.
You'll want the MT's 3:46 rear diff too. It would be a complete DOG with the 3:15.
Trans, driveshaft, and diff, new from Toyota, you're looking at about $8,000 right there. The entire center console is different, and the clutch pedal, hydraulics (need a new master cylinder reservoir, etc)...
My point exactly. When the DOT tests and certifies the sound level, it's done under lab/repeatable conditions, and performed the same for EVERY vehicle. There's specific throttle levels and rpm sweep, done under an acceleration load to a certain speed.
The greatest modern example of how this...
Not what I did to it (not here yet), but what I got for it (already had fob covers). Only some people will understand the what and why ;)
FYI, I had to order it from Japan, and not joking, it took exactly two weeks to arrive!
Ethanol is notoriously a little harder to start, especially in temps below freezing. In winter, the FlexFuel GM trucks crank much longer and idle rough for the first 10-20 seconds if E85 is in the tank. It doesn't vaporize well at cold temps, so liquid fuel is in the combustion chamber.
