From my experiences, the heated mirrors on every vehicle I've had are pretty slow to warm, especially in comparison to things like seat heaters & the rear defroster grid. How much time did you give it to warm up? I also imagine that it's that way because heating the cold glass too quickly...

Based on the crazy special service tools needed to remove and reinstall, I'd bet that it is, because things need to be 'clocked' a certain way with rotational tension applied. Certainly different from any other single-plate clutch I've seen or worked on in my lifetime.
