  1. **Official Lap Times Thread**

1:52.41 at Buttonwillow Circuit. Good for 3rd fastest lap for the day in NASA TT GT class. seems like the track has slowed down a couple seconds since it opened earlier this year. also loved beating all these beefed up mustangs
  2. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

Yeah I’m always surprised to see people when they run 4 POT rears… I can never get the rear brakes that hot as it is
  3. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

I have m3 rear caliper with R5 pads. A little loud in the street, but have lasted me over 10 track days with lots of life left. If I read your thread correctly, it looks like your on 19’s… why not try g80 m3 front calipers? I believe they’re rebranded GT m6 calipers and they’re really really good.
  4. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

Kern417 had a similar wastegate issue on his DAW turbo. bootmod3 logging can be shitty. Sometimes the refresh rates get really really slow, sometimes i lose connection. Shut down the app, cycle your WiFi, unplug/plug your dongle. not sure if you adjusted the logging thresholds, but you can go...
  5. Oil Pressure Comparison: ZTK Pump vs. Plastic Adjusting Ring Pump

Hard to say- BM3 being BM3 had broken RAM channels for oil pressure up until earlier this year. but at 25k miles (now 37k) I installed the HPFP and the exhaust cam has been a problem child up until recently. Hopefully you never have to worry about your pump, but it seems like oil temps were...
  6. Oil Pressure Comparison: ZTK Pump vs. Plastic Adjusting Ring Pump

Just different RPM points on the screen shots. My oil pressure target tapers off from 5k to redline (81-75PSIG). I’m unsure of the thought process why my tuner did this…. I assume it’s because HPFP demand tapers and higher oil pressure isn’t needed to support the load.
  7. Oil Pressure Comparison: ZTK Pump vs. Plastic Adjusting Ring Pump

Finally got around to doing some proper testing on the ZTK pump at The Circuit at Button Willow to compare it against my old plastic adjusting ring pump. I haven’t seen any real data showing the ZTK pump having higher output, so this was a good chance to find out for myself. Shout-out to...
  8. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

Unless someone can tell me otherwise, I don’t really see a benefit for true coil overs other than the ability to change springs and adjust ride height easier. Maybe big aero can benefit from it. For me, I set it and forget it. I had clearance issues with my aFe swaybar and had to go back to OEM...
  9. TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

I was going to go with Nitrons w/ inertia labs last month but wasn’t entirely convinced. Ever since they opened up distribution in SoCal everyone talks about them. I’m on MCS 1WNR 13k front, 11k rear w/ true rear and I still feel like it could use a little more rear spring. I’m heavier than...
  10. Any transmission experts here?

I have no idea. The first pan they used from the kit leaked and I smelt that within the first week. This time didn’t notice it at all… and top down or up.
  11. Any transmission experts here?

cross posted on FB. I had a local shop build my trans with a PDS HPK stage 2 kit earlier this year. Car ran great, but I noticed that the transmission was leaking fluid when I pulled the transmission cover off while servicing other parts of the driveline. Took my car back to the shop to fix the...
  12. Guibo

I'm not familiar with Toyota numbers, but the procedure and parts should be the same. BMW Drive Shaft Flex Joint (Guibo) - Febi Bilstein 26294 | FCP Euro x3 BMW Drive Shaft Flex Joint Bolt - Genuine BMW 26118607971 | FCP Euro x3 BMW Drive Shaft Flex Joint Bolt - Genuine BMW 26117527475 | FCP...
  13. Guibo

Car vibrates under acceleration and increases under load. Easy to spot if you raise the rear.
  14. solutions for oil temp on track

Specifically, with IAT's, yes the turbo helped pretty significantly. I have both a track map (boost limited up to ~20PSI depending on E content) and a kill map. Track map has similar boost to the BM3 OTS flex tune I was using (~22lbs) and I never run into IAT issues unless it's 85F+. Most of...
  15. SUPRA DIFF BRACE

@rwsen Damn, the man is just trying to advertise his business…. @rwense this design looks better than the one you posted on FB! i went with BMR and it surprisingly made a difference. Did this in conjunction with replacing the front diff bushings. I’d imagine these braces would help keep the...
  16. Full Caliper Rebuild Kit

I haven’t tried their higher temp dust seals, but I feel like dust boots on track cars is like washing a car before it rains… fortunately haven’t had any issues for the last two years like this. I wish there was a better solution other than going with race calipers. The stainless pistons are an...
  17. **Official Lap Times Thread**

Those are solid lap times, especially stock power. I’m surprised I haven’t seen you around since I mostly run with speed ventures.
  18. Car needs recalibration for alignment??

Fake news. Rule of thumb though is don’t press a shop that doesn’t want to touch your car. have had probably 7 or 8 alignments done on my car. Never needed to clear codes or “calibrate” anything. Even the TIS doesn’t state anything like that, and they go way over the top in regards to...
  19. Simply racing is a terrible shop

Big fan of @Speed Logic. I’ve gone to a handful of shops in SoCal and first time I came across a tech that was genuinely interested in getting me setup properly. Had them do a Pure HPK stage 2 trans build , $7500 OTD. Done in 3 business days. The supplied trans pan from the kit leaked, they...
  20. Big Brake Upgrades via the BMW G series catalog

I was gonna say something snarky like, “don’t be spoon fed, read the thread”…. But most of the info for m calipers is literally on the first page so… don’t be spoon fed, read the thread, lazy ass.
