Are you catless? I've seen reports of overboost on manuals leading to limp mode for catless downpipes as well as the OTS 93 tune from MHD. Would be interested to hear if you have that issue as well

i mean other than flashing back to stock, you can take back to a dealer and they will happily re-lock the ecu (lol). In all seriousness, I don't think you need to lock the DME to switch to MHD? Just flash the ecu back to stock then flash MHD on?

I have not had any issues with limp mode. As i read it, this seems more likely to happen the more power you are pushing on the MTs. This is evident by the fact that its more common on 93/ethanol vs the 91 map. I'm also not doing a bunch of WOL pulls though, so maybe i just haven't pushed the car...

pretty sure flock cameras get bluetooth data from devices you have and create a fingerprint as you drive by anyways, so reading license plates is only a small part of the issue

I think the only question that remains is that if you go back to the backed up image, what shows up for the state when they look at your ecu image? It seems like it should easily pass

Yep as far as I can see you can “relock” by going back to the backed up dme image. I paid $500 for mlink. There’s also an option without the advanced backup (no relocking I think?) for $350. With that option you can unlock multiple times though. This is how they describe the two options

Just received the m-link tool today. Will be unlocking and flashing the ECU in a few hours. ofc its raining where I am today. Fantastic luck lol

Super. Only one they had in stock when i checked out. Looks like the base is available now though. FWIW, an extra $130 to back up an image of the DME seems worth it to me

according to them, you can create full backups of your ecu prior to unlocking. That should allow you to re lock i guess?
