I'm looking into m-link as well. I ultimately want to go from BM3 CustomRom (FEMTO unlock) to MHD+. Has anyone gone from BM3 to re-locking their DME with the stock CVN/CID numbers, and moving on to MHD+? I would like the flexibility to relock/unlock at home for smog purposes.
I believe @razorlab has, and has posts about it.

I have switched from BM3 to MHD but I never looked at the CVN. I didn't really care at the time. I also don't live in California anymore so overall doesn't really matter to me personally. I just try to help others when I can.

i mean other than flashing back to stock, you can take back to a dealer and they will happily re-lock the ecu (lol). In all seriousness, I don't think you need to lock the DME to switch to MHD? Just flash the ecu back to stock then flash MHD on?

You are correct. Just use the flash back to stock BM3 option (not lock) and then flash MHD.

This seems like the first at home unlock? I haven't seen any discussion about this yet, but if I'm understanding correctly seems like it should be a big deal. Anyone familiar with M-Link and/or Mission Tuning?

I ordered mine 8 days ago. Sounds like it might ship in a few days. I'll let you know how it goes. I have a 2024 manual.

I already did the tune on my 24 manual. Went well, you'll be happy with the results!
