Definitely looks accurate right next to the spy pics these are based on. I just hope that bumper air intakes aren't shaped like that and that's heavy bumper camo on the prototypes designed to throw us off on the actual shape underneath.
The modular platform that the 6 series is built on (dubbed "CLAR") is supposed to be for the 3 Series and bigger models. Besides the CLAR, the only other platform that I know BMW to be using going forward is the UKL platform (FWD and AWD only), which is for the 1 Series, 2 Series and MINI cars...
Why not? The proportions are spot on to the prototype in the spy pics these are based off of. And the styling is a realistic toned down version of the FT-1 concept.
Love it @Supra93 !!
What a day I missed! Just checking in now and saw these exciting pics.
As nice as that ass was, it was just way too exotic to make it to production in pretty close form. I do wish that they had pushed out the exhausts to the ends like on the concept rather than the more traditional placement...
AFAIK, Nissan hasn't invested heavily or partnered with anyone to develop the manufacturing of carbon fiber on a big scale, so my guess is they'll try to save weight with more extensive use of lightweight steel and aluminum. If they're talking about using carbon fiber then either they're going...
This.
The Supra trademark is alive and well. My bet is the S-FR is for upcoming concept. It's a bit early to be trademarking the sub-86 if it's probably more than 3+ yrs out?
It's a concept so it doesn't have to be based on anything. I think design wise it resembles the FT-1 more than the M4. Especially that wrapped hood to air intake area.
Now that's the right type of event to keep showing off the FT1 - to enthusiasts who will keep the faith about htis car.
This is only the second time they've shown it at a meet or enthusiast gather right? The only other one I can remember is when they rolled it into the Irvine Cars & Coffee.
Sounds like you're looking for a track sleeper. Maybe a dedicated track car built from an older beater but with fully built engine, transmission, etc.? Going to be hard to sneak up on someone with a new-wish car since most everyone who hits the track is going to be an enthusiast and real...
I think 180s mechanically limited, but in the US we'll get 155 electronically limited.
Never thought this was an important spec for me since I'll never hit the the top speed limit ever. I guess I can understand if someone wants to take this car to a track with a super long straight or maybe...
Best description of the interior I've seen. So cool that it's a fully working interior, display, gauges. The digital graphics looks good.
And yea that's what the Supra is to me too - a "superhero" car like he says :)
