Octane recommendation is not ethanol-based, it has to do with chance pre-ignition under certain conditions.
For instance, my N54 e92 takes only 91 octane “in theory,” but in reality it will run on 87 but with a higher chance of pre-ignition and knock. 91 or higher will almost eliminate chance...
I assume you didn’t rip on it immediately after getting the car…
Could it be something with the gas that’s in there? If it’s old fuel, maybe the car isn’t happy with it?
I once had tree sap drops from a pine tree on the hood and figured I should deal with those sooner than later.
I made the mistake of using a normal towel rather than a microfibre cloth and while my generous use of Goo-Gone did the trick, I was left with some very noticeable swirl marks
I didn’t consider the service business but yeah they may want you coming back for service, although there is nothing obligating you to do so even if you’re local.
If you’re buying out of province then I would assume there is no relationship with the dealer. It also depends on the vehicle you’re buying.
If you’re using a bank draft then yes, that takes some of the suspicion away.
Good for you.
Withdrawing that much cash or walking into a dealer with that much cash will often flag it as a suspicious transaction.
Some dealers refuse to sell for straight cash to protect themselves or just simply because they want the extra profit from a dealer loan.
I’m not saying you...
I bet they would if you bought it out right. Financing to extraprovincial buyers would be tough to enforce but I don’t see why they wouldn’t sell you the car if you showed up cash in hand, other than it would be a little suspicious to have that much cash.
Prince Albert Toyota said they sold one this year. They currently have a red 3.0 Auto on the lot, although that may have changed as I didn’t see it when I drove by the other day, so maybe it’s inside.
I did speak to ENS but no I didn’t end up ordering from them. They told me the same thing, 1-2 allocations a year, need deposit and pre-approved financing, no real timeline.
I’m not sure what transmission is in these but if it’s anything like my e92, then that sounds like typical BMW manual clutch wonkyness. My e92 1-2nd is very unhappy with quick shifts unless you shift above 3k RPM and give it a bit more gas than normal.
Just put a $1,000 deposit down on a black MT in Saskatchewan. At best a 2024 model but may be a 2025 depending on build time and schedule.
Discussed ordering with two local dealers, both told me they get about 1-2 MT allocations per year, they need a $1,000 deposit and a letter of pre-approval...
