@shaloot idk if that brace on car is removable (optional to use)but mine isn’t using it; but down pipe is not budging at all. Just tried to shake it and it’s pretty solid in place. I liked the ETS kit because turbo does sit lower, I’ve seen folks say KLM can rub on hood or doesn’t allow braces to be used.
thanks for the extra pics. Agree with your reasoning on keeping the braces.

that downpipe support bracket seems like it’s in a weird spot, but I haven’t really looked at mine closely as it’s still stock DP. I assumed that bracket is supposed to bolt up to the factory location. Most full frame kits don’t use it so I’m sure you’re fine, I just would think the less support points means it’s more weight constantly pulling on the exhaust manifold studs or stressing other connection points.

edit: these are 2 diff pics of 2 different products. Top is stock DP to show where it attaches, bottom is an example of a stock DP replacement

I would reccomend removing JNC Manifold. I made a puchase and was told it would take two weeks to ship. That was around 20 May, it is now August 4th and he will not respond to any messages.

Wow, sus. I’ll give this a full update this weekend. Wanted to add this one I just saw recently anyway from JDY. Kies did a video of an S58 version. They are overseas but it’s a unique offering.

+1 for Apex.
I'm getting Precision overload. It's at a point where seeing a non PTE build feels like spotting a unicorn, since everyone and their mom is running a PTE.

ETS would be the closest of the three, but they are not close to equal length especially the KLM manifold. It’s not a bad thing, considering the KLM manifold has achieved over 1500hp. Just off sound you could tell they are not equal length, a lot of top mount manifolds have the distinct VQ/VR pitch and lose some of the inline 6 smoothness.
Appreciate this post. The sound is important to me, as dumb as it may be.
May I ask, of the full kit or manifold alone options out there, that allow for an external WG (single or duel), what would you recommend based on sound impact?
I want to see and hear a BMR lightning in person badly, I like that it’s fairly compact but being a mix of tube and log im unsure if the sound.
any input would be appreciated.

All good, thanks for asking. Sound is subjective, but I’ll try and lay out what you’re after. If what you mean by sound impact is by improving the sound. Well, there are some options and one of them has came up recently that you may be interested in. For me, I like the log manifold from BigBoost. Center fed bottom mount kit, not high pitch or raspy. Smooth inline 6 sound while still sounding rowdy, but less like a diesel when compared to the exhaust manifold the B58 comes from factory. For a bigger sound impact, I like the 4n kit with equal length runners. It has a higher pitch, but still smooth and no weird frequencies. For top mount, I like the Doc Race kit with the 1.9" runners. It sounds pretty good on the Gen 1 B58 and S58. Good pitch and tone, but not too raspy when compared to other top mount kits. I haven't heard many gen 2's with the 1.9" runner design, but the manifold looks pretty similar to the S58. The manifold design has changed over time with a new cast collector and possible runner changes so the sound may be different now compared to when the kits were out a year or two ago.

Now there is another kit that has came out recently I am not sure if you've seen it. I've seen this manifold some time ago when they were developing an equal length manifold for the S58. They have made a kit for the A90 B58 a bit ago. It sounds pretty nutty on an S58 (different motor, but manifold looks very similar to the B58).

My opinion on these kits is strictly on sound, not on fit and fitment.

p.s. - I got the link for the Alunox manifold, it's available as a diy kit but I'm sure you could contact them and have it welded together. https://www.alunox.co.uk/product/bmw-b58-turbo-manifold-self-build-kit-321/
