Guys the GT Championship in Japan is the ultimate JDM culture championship.Imagine the power this GT500 Supra is packing??
It has a race every two weeks in most known circuits (Suzuka, Fuji, ...) and consists of two categories , racing at the same time (GT 300/GT500).
The GT500 class has regulations and the cars have 2.0l 4-cylinder direct injection turbo engines with 550hp output limit.
The GT300 class allows the teams to use any engine from the manufacturer with again output restrictions.
Also there are differences in the drivetrain, aero and weight limitations.
So a GT500 GT-R has a 550hp 2.0l 4-cylinder turbo NR20A from nismo and is faster than the GT300 GT-R that has the standard VR38DETT that is heavier.
The new GT500 Supra will likely have a newer version of the Gazoo Lexus LC GT500 engine .
Performance doesn't appeal to the cars actual production performance, although official teams develop aero parts and other components and technologies athat are later on offered (nismo N-Attack pack for the GT-R used in the record 07:08 lap)
