Hey guys,

For anyone with an Absolute Zero Supra, one of the worst nightmares came true. My car got a bad paint chip (could've been worse like the guy who somebody backed into his absolute zero supra). Here's a pic for reference:

On top of that, it happened exactly a week after I got the car. I've been looking for places to do a touchup and all I get quoted it to paint the whole door (Over $2000 for just the door). I'm not paying for that. I've also noticed how hard it's been to get an accurate touchup, since the paint has a tricoat. I bought the OEM paint touchup pen, directly from Toyota and it was not similar at all. I also saw that Dr.ColorChip doesn't match as it's a solid color, rather than pearl. My last alternative of "reputable" brand was Automotive TouchUp. I just got their paint today and I have to admit, it's pretty darn close. Not perfect, but close.

Today I only did a test on a piece of paper and masking tape to compare. You be the judge:

I'm only comparing colors on a piece of paper and the car itself. This is not a perfomed touch-up.

I will say it's VERY close to the actual color. I haven't done the touch-up yet, as I'm waiting to receive more tools to do the job. Once I'm done, I'll be posting an update on how it looks.

Here's a picture of the products:

When you buy the paint, they include both the ground coat and middle coat. You should add the clear coat and primer (if necessary - so it paint bonds to metal) separately to your cart as it doesn't come included with the paint.

I'm just sending this to help you in case you want to touch up your paint. You should do this at your own risk.

I really hope this helps anyone in my same situation. I'll keep you guys posted.

Either way the touch up will be an vast improvement over the chip.

If you’re not happy with the end result… fingernail polish will easily remove the fresh touch up paint without harming the factory paint.

I wonder what the difference between “A96 Absolute Zero” and “D01 Absolute Zero” are… I’m in dire need of some paint for mine for rock chips on my bumper. 3,000 miles in the clock and it’s already a mess ?

Also, I have 2 very tiny chips on the bumper. So I might start with those, since they're way easier to fix than the one on the door.

My plan is to PPF the car after the chips are fixed.
