Aftermarket Turbo/ what to be careful with

When buying a used aftermarket top mount turbo what should I be careful with? Got an offer for a turbo that has 5k miles, was wondering if thats a safe buy or?

If you do buy, remove the CHRA and send it out to get an inspection and balance check. Usually some places will do them for $100. Better to have peace of mind that everything is all good than worry about it blowing or burning oil right after install.

I also bought a used top mount kit with around 2k miles. I checked if there's any shaft play, there wasn't so it seemed good. Might take it to get inspected before install though to make sure it's perfect.
