Currently have my 2020 Supra in consignment at a dealership here in WA. Hoping to sell as-is before I part it out and revert back to stock form.
Priced at $55k but open to offers and can also include a...
I ended up getting an oil cap breather and ran a line from the catch can back to the intake plenum with a VTT one way check valve. It'll pull the vapor under vacuum/idle and under boost keep the check valve closed allowing the PCV system to vent as needed through the catch can breather and oil...
This is UV degradation of the carbon fiber. This is essentially what happens when carbon fiber is exposed to sunlight without proper UV protection in form of Ceramics or quality resin when being made. UV light is to carbon fiber as oxygen is for rusting iron.
You can also take the OEM fitting and fit a barbed fitting on to the end of it to put a breather on it. The factory check valve on the block is actually a one-way INTO the block not out of it. However Capping it works fine as well. ?
I ordered them on Amazon actually.
Are you running the PCV line that comes out of the block onto your catch can? The KLM fitting does not have the one way check valve in it, so it will just fill up the KLM can. Highly suggest removing your catch can and checking to see how full it is/emptying is. Guarantee its completely full of...
If you just cap/block the crank/block PCV fitting and run a VTT breather oil cap and compliment your PCV system with a catch can, you can just eliminate it all together. Those OEM fittings are fragile and super cheap quality.
On my top mount setup I just have it capped off.
Uncertain if this PFS pump is root cause at this point, but seems like PFS pump may either be maxed out or not operating to its advertised numbers.
Did logging on the dyno last night and were getting erratic fuel pressure and oscillation with fuel trim at the top end.
My theory is possible a...
If you do buy, remove the CHRA and send it out to get an inspection and balance check. Usually some places will do them for $100. Better to have peace of mind that everything is all good than worry about it blowing or burning oil right after install.
it takes like 2 minutes to adjust them. Plastic cap and a like 16mm nut I believe. Just get a pry tool under the wiper arm and wiggle while you try to remove it and reposition. It can get kind of tight on there.
The only vapor that should be present is only excess from the fuel tank. From my understanding this system is only designed to allow it to recirculate to intake to keep the emissions down by burning it clean rather than into the air.
To be fair when I say 2 CTS, it was warrantied, I have yet to send the 2nd one off....not even sure if I will. May just outsource it to get repaired and sell it or sell it as is to someone who wants to repair it or take a risk with it.
Well listing a Precision 6870 is pretty specific....there's only a couple kits available (ETS and KLM are the primary two). But pretty much running that turbo on either kit is going to yield similar quality and results +/- a few HP
Only seems to be beneficial if you are running higher than stock boost levels and also are running an updated/modified valve cover or PCV block off pins. Additional ventilation never hurts, but it just needs to be regularly checked and cleaned to prevent it from spitting oil everywhere on your...
As someone who had 2 CTS turbos burning oil like a MOFO, I vote top mount. Ripped that junk out and run a Precision 6870. Should have just went this route from the beginning.
Originally was considering their kit, but their ghosting response and lack of resources to talk to them or use their website pushed me in direction of going with KLM.
Otherwise their kit seems solid and they were apparently working on offering other options besides Garrett turbos. I think they...
Well I ask only because I recently did PCV block off pins on mine with a KLM catch can and the top of my catch can smokes now (which is normal since there is no vacuum source to draw the blow by vapors)
So pending your preference, you'll either have to endure it via exhaust or catch can.
