Tire rack has an article/video that is also posted on this forum where they compare lap times and feel of 215/225/245 tires on 7/8/9 inch rims so 9 comparisons total. Their testing shows 225 on 9 inch wheel was the fastest and most on edge with 245 on 9 being second. (Maybe if they ran 245 on 9.5 inch rim it would have been even faster). It basically showed at least for a stock BRZ, 17 inch wheels and 225-245 thread, tire thread = wheel width = best time. Considering tire width is larger than thread width this means a streched fit where the sidewall is rounded.

When you bring that ratio over to Supra and 18x11 rim gives that same ratio for a 275 thread which most people run on 18x10 wheels.

So who is running 18x11 here?

I just moved to an APEX 18x11 square setup. I have a set I run and a spare set with tires mounted in the garage. As posted above, many run this setup and it's awesome to be able to rotate.

I'm running 18x10.7" wide Titan7 T-R10s square with 275-35R18 tires and Motorsports Hardware 15mm spacers. This is on stock struts and springs using SPL LCAs to dial in ~-3° of camber. I'm getting a very small amount of rubbing on my front left wheel liner under HEAVY cornering on-track.

I would prefer to be running 40 AR tires, but the Kuhmo V730s only come in 275-35. The tires are definitely a tiny bit stretched, but the turn-in is fantastic. Next season I may go with 40 AR Nankangs since I'll be on coilovers of some sort.

40AR is gonna need more agressive clearance solution like the coilovers? 35 vs 40 same setup, 40 has higher chance of not fitting. (This makes logical sense but asking anyways).

I prefer meaty sidewall as well though everyone and their mothers seem to be manufacturing 275/35 not 40.
