Hi,

Suppose I am ok posting this here in the off topic?

Calling on all that are knowledgeable about engine issues...

This is a brand new 1.2, 3-cyl petrol, PSA Puretech engine. Just run in, 1100 miles, from new, today when I got back from work and switched it off today, it made this reeealy weird metallic scraping sound, coming out the engine bay, right when it's just all coming to a halt.

I tried it 3 times, all 3 times it repeated, so something is there.

The car is Auto, it's in Park, with E brake on, when turning the engine off, it runs perfectly fine.

Planning to call dealer tomorrow but wanting to get some opinions before that if anyone just happens to gave a good idea what it may be.

Tried spinning the fan and that's not it.

*edit - having trouble uploading video

I can't really hear it, but is the Air Conditioner switched on or off? If it's on, turn it off and try the test again.

Sorry I should have put more detail: Listen very carefully from 0:07, once the engine has gone totally off and quiet, it then starts the sound, like a scraping rotating sound that then comes to a stop shortly after.

My work computer is too quiet to hear it at this time.

Somethings definitely scraping on metal surface. It's slowing down, rotating..
Best case, could be a rock or branch lodged in somewhere..
Worst case rotating peripherals connected to the belt/chain...
Ruled out AC compressor..

Can you get in closer to the noise to find the source?

Yo I never updated here sorry...
Anyway, we took the car in few weeks ago, they checked it, and said it's normal, "engine cleaning" or some absolute BS like that they mumbled.

So basically the sound is always there, it's weird, doesn't sound right, but it's the daily and I got warranty and breakdown/roadside cover so I just gave up, it drives fine, just annoying to know it most likely ain't right, but techs don't wanna admit.
