Are we picking and peeling apart the OEM ones? Seems like a good video on how to DIY would be helpful.
I’ve thrown my fair share of tails in the oven on low heat to split them apart. Just curious how this works.

Cool. Yeah a video or instructions would be great. It looks like there are clear and smoked options? I volunteer as tribute for testing.

Yes the OEM lights will have to be taken apart. From the factory the lens are actually welded, not glued, so the oven method won’t work.

Removing the factory lens is easiest using an ultrasonic knife. I would just take it to a shop, at least for the lens removal part.

We will have a smoked option too, but even the clear lens option look somewhat “smoked” because the factory housing is black.

So the smoked lens might look too dark and at that point the factory red lens can be tinted too which will look similar.

It’s nice to have this option. Another place I found has clear options with either sourcing your own tail lights ($1300) or having them provide the entire assembly ($2000).

Do these come with clear coat?

Feel like these would look good on white for sure, but searching youtube and other sources doesn't seem like there are many install/walk through videos and the few I have seen I wasn't the biggest fan of the end product based mostly on how they were taken apart. Still haven't seen anyone do the baking method like some people used when doing projector retrofits.

Ive done a few of these types of lighting projects in my heyday with Honda headlights and tailights. I would just bake at 200f for about 10 min to start. But dont place directly on the oven rack. I would dampen cardboard or a stack of newspapers and place the lights on top. Pry apart the outer lens from the rest of the housing. Clean off excess adhesive and use somekind of high temp automotive adhesive sealent. Get some c-clamps and press the assembly together. Let cure overnight, do a leak test by sealing the bulb opening and taking a hot steamy shower with the headlight in the bathroom.

Having a heat gun helps. I was too late in ordering the smoked lenses =(

so the baking method won’t actually work on the Supra tail lights because they are welded from factory, not glued. The lens need to be cut or broken off the housing. Then the replacement ones can be glued on.

These are similar to the rx8 tail lights where the lens is fused to the housing. I'm interested to see DIY's or these installed. I do like the red lens on the refraction blue but maybe would get another set of tail lights to do this mod on.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. I was assuming it was the "welded" style but haven't really dug deep enough. I need to find me a cheap busted tail to play with and see if I actually want to go through with buying a spare set and doing it.

Many new cars have the welded style lens instead of the glued one. Keep me posted.
