Code out the infernal "Navigation is not active" message

I don't care if it removes all voice output in the car, but does anyone know (or have a lead) as to how to turn off the "Navigation is not active" message. Every time I hit the map button hoping for Waze to pop-up, bitchin' Betty announces the obvious.
