DME/ECU Bench Unlock and Tune

My Ecu date is 10/19/19 and cal id: 120 and have a few questions on the bench unlock and tune:

1. Can anyone explain how the bench unlock process works?
   1. Why is the unlock not included as part of Ecutek? or included as part of the tune?
   2. Why do tuners prefer specific vendors for unlocking? Do they use different tools or procedures?
   3. Why is there so much variation on the pricing for unlocking?
2. I have an Ecutek and deskey (license) with 375 points on it.
   1. Do I need need to send my Ecu for bench unlock and if yes, do I need to send my deskey along with it as it has 375 points?
   2. Can I load a tune if my deskey has points or it needs to be swapped?
