Hello, I was hoping that someone could shed some light on how to tell if an ECU is compatible with the Supra. I only know how to check the production date, but unfortunately do not have a VIN or car details. Any help would be appreciated as I am slightly clueless and could end up buying the wrong thing.

For context, these are from a second hand parts shop.

There is a thread here somewhere. I’ll see if I can find it for you that should help. Also I’m not really understanding the reason to have to clone if your going bigger turbo, port injection meth etc.

I Have a 2020+ which isn't tuneable, and I want to extract the right amount of power whilst maintaining reliability.

Realistically, I don't really know what im doing and I dont want to run the risk of messing up my car. I Found a great tuner that works with Femto and has a Tech that is flying in from Finland/Russia for a few days in September to unlock the ECUs. I was hoping to find a Doner DME by then.

Man that’s pretty impressive. Where are you from? That would be a great opportunity to have direct access to Femto tech.

I live in the UAE, the shop is Performansion. Amazing car culture here, but im sure a pretty penny was paid for the tech to show up for a few days.

Keep me posted how it goes. Sounds actually pretty bad ass! If he’s a tuner you may want to put your mods on before he gets there.

Sorry to say but these are all bad AFAIK. I might be wrong but I've been looking at compatible ECUs for way too long.

An easy way to weed 90% of non compatible ECUs out are either the dates and the beginning text. 0261 are petrol/gasoline ECUs, while 0281 are diesel. This probably isn't a rule, but that's what I've noticed.

The middle text, like S10, usually signifies that its a modern ECU. However, there's a good chance it's B38, or B48.

Good numbers: 0261S1030V, 0261S100AS, 0261S100H1, 0261S1004F, 0261S22184, 0261S1012V, 0261S21892, 0261S101Y9, 0261S1002G, 0261S1011K, 0261S100DT. There are some 0261S103G4 that are late 05/20, but you don't find them often.

There's probably more ECU codes, but these are all the ones I've seen.

Edit: I take it back, none are compatible. A closer look at the ones I mentioned below, they look like B48 DMEs. Best to take a picture with the whole thing in there.

The 0261S101Y6 and 0261S1002F are good.

Anything that says DDE is Digital Diesel Electronics.

The ones with the larger font are typically for previous gen B58 (not compatible).

Date is fine, without the VIN I can't be sure if it's a compatible ECU.
