Hi there, so I have a quick question. On the USDM models the reverse light is part number 81480-WAA02 and I have seen for EDM models the part number is 81480-WAA01 which is the version that gives the reverse light a brake light function.

When I look up that81480-WAA01 part number on Toyota it’s considered the previous version to a new revised version labeled 81480-WAA03. When I look up the USDM part number there is no revised version. I am wondering if anybody knows what was revised in that 01 to 03 version because I am wanting the EDM model for the 4th brake light function.

Everywhere I have looked so far cannot give me clarity if the 81480-WAA03 is the same as 81480-WAA01 version with the 4th brake light

Thanks for any help :)

It’s the rear fog light. You’ll have to do some work to use it as a brake light. There are threads on here with detailed info.

Yea I have been searching for 81480-WAA01 but all I’m getting is that number is discontinued from Toyota and the revised number is 81480-WAA03. I’m asking if anyone knows if this revised part number is just a number change and still has the same functionality as 81480-WAA01. When you look up the USDM part number on Toyota 81480-WAA02 you’ll see that there is no connection to a previous revision or new revision.

Can you report back once you have it installed or if you find out the revised number is legit? I’m interested in this as well. Also curious where you are ordering it from.

Since no one else decided to gamble, I took the plunge and was not let down!

Wiring method should be the same as any other tutorial since it electrically does the same thing.

FYI, the "brake light" is the rear fog light.

If this is the revised EDM version, can you tell us where you ordered it from. Multiple online retailers I’ve checked are currently OOS

No I "gambled" on the part that everyone already knew worked lol. Yes this is the superseded part number

FYI, the "brake light" is the rear fog light.
I am aware. However, the function we all want is to use it as a 4th brake light. Wiring it up to actually function as a fog DRL with the poverty button interior fog light switch the USDM cars don't have is not a trivial task.

HELLO EVERYONE. I’m so sorry for the late reply. I did end up doing the gamble and bought the revised part number. I had to do some expert level wiring but I turned the brake light into a running light, with braking capabilities(I wired in a f1 3 flash module as well) I also plan on wiring in this week

a pulsing module so when I go into reverse I get the pulsing white LEDs but here’s how it looks! If you were also wondering I used bimmer code to keep my tail lights drls on. The EDM fog lights red matches perfectly with the tail lights. I did tint the red portion of the fog light red so when the car is off you know it’s red
