Electric motor noise under the hood

Anyone know what the small electric motors are doing. I hear them going for a couple of seconds when I open the door.

In for response I hear them too. I know they have electric cooling pumps but this is when car is cooled and only key is on.

I did call my dealer and spoke with the service manager and he thought maybe it was a emission thing. It's amazing that they don't know.

They are common in BMWs. Iā€™d hear them in my wifeā€™s 2017 X3. Totally normal. Iā€™ve never researched into it, but Iā€™d assume they have something to do with hvac
