Anyone had or have the FI Exhaust downpipe with the simulator that prevents CEL?

Does it sound catless? - I haven't done enough research to see the inside of the tube (Can't tell if it's obstructed or what's in there)...but I am looking to have a catless downpipe to pair up with my AMS since they are easy to swap out.

I went from catless to catted and not sure I am liking the catted note. I want to try catless again but with the CEL simulator. I had ordered the Armytrix but the company I ordered from is being weird (They removed the Armytrix and tried to give me their version with a sensor delete), and I came across the FI Exhaust option and was curious.

Thanks in advance for answers/responses.

Honestly, I’d just save the money, pick up a cheap catless downpipe, ignore the CEL, and keep the OEM for emissions swaps. There’s no need to spend extra on metal piping.
I could be wrong, but doesn’t the catalytic material inside the simulator burn out after a while? So, it’s not really a permanent solution.
Not sure if you’re on a tuning platform or stock, but with BM3 you can specify which DTCs you want to disable for your maps. I’m not sure if MHD+ has this feature, I believe with ECUtek the tuner needs to add them, and who the fuck even uses MG Flasher?
If you’re not on a tuning platform, I’d use ProTools or Bimmerlink to scan for codes to see if you have any issues, instead of just relying on a CEL. Plus, you have iDrive which is always complaining about something anyway

Ya, I think I'm just gonna grab another plain ass catless. All the videos and websites are being sneaky with these no CEL "catless." The stuff I could find does not look full catless, which is why I posted. I was just hoping for no CEL just because, but oh well, Ill save hundreds by getting a real catless dp. I may even salvage my old one, but they are cheap enough to just grab another new one that I didn't bang up.

I'm on JB4. I was catless for like 3 years and decided to go high flow cat because I wanted to see how it sounded. It sounds aight, but not as good as catless did. Even the wife prefers catless. I'm still waiting for tuning to hit stateside and not cost more than I can justify. Coming from a BRZ and STI (07), it's hard to justify spending thousands for a tune for a car that's faster than all my previous cars. JB4 is fine so far. Stock was tbh, haha.

Thanks!

Went back to my old Titan Catless DP. I tried a random one, but it did not fit. I have the Magnaflow exhaust which has two midpipe sizes and neither fit the rando downpipe so Ill be sending it back. Titan still works though!

Been on the FI Exhaust catless for about 6 weeks / 500 miles of spirited driving now. Running stock exhaust with JB4 always-open exhaust valve setting.

No CEL so far. Made the exhaust much louder and the pops quite a bit more aggressive. Also no drone, personally doesn't sound rasp-y at all (I came from a straight piped long tube header 370z, I know what rasp sounds like...) I quite like how it sounds, but if you ran just about any aftermarket exhaust it'll probably gain some rasp and be loud as hell.

I would recommend it if your Titan is throwing a CEL or you don't like how it sounds.

As for Armytrix; there's claims out there that the quality went down significantly and a lot of them were having failed welds. I haven't heard anyone say anything about it personally, but that was enough for vendors to start dropping their downpipes.

(Update 09/12)
I will occasionally get a CEL from this DP if I give the car some throttle before everything has had time to warm up (i.e. first 1-2 minutes of driving), cannot get it to throw a CEL any other way nor does the CEL ever appear on start-up. So pretty much just give the car plenty of time to get warm and you should be safe.
