Hello!

Been lurking this forum for a while but never made an account to post. This is my first and likely last as I am selling my 2023 Nitro Yellow 6MT Supra in order to take my last shot at a dream car. Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps
Driver's assist package not included (Has HUD but no Blind Spot Monitors)
Current miles - 7,075

Zero performance mods. Never tracked. Followed all recommended procedures during break-in period.
Connecticut located.

Mods:
- Full frontal PPF
- Full body ceramic coating
- Ceramic coated wheels and calipers
- Tinted windows (20%)
- ZL1 Rock Guards

- Engine bay fluid filler caps (anodized red)
- Subwoofer box mod from the forum

Wow you're not kidding. Whoever landed that got a hell of a deal. Makes me nervous to ever list anything on an auction site.

Tbh I really wasn't sure what to list as the asking price because I keep seeing such wide range of results.

If worst come to worst I'll just be trading it in towards my next car and probably get similar value to that auction.

There's no reason your car shouldn't be worth 57-59k all day! It's a beautiful car with all the right oem plus changes.

Looking to move into a Lotus Emira. Growing up I always loved the Elise/Exige and the ideology of lightweight with superior handling sports cars.

I know the Emira isn't exactly true to the original Lotus concept and most purists thinks it's too heavy and muted but it can't be denied that they are one of the most beautiful cars a available right now.

Seems the Emira is going to be the last ICE Lotus so I'm taking my shot at it before it's a thing of the past.

Why does the hood look like it has a huge gap in the middle? Please tell me that looks better in person. All I see is a huge ass panel gap.

While the Emira is being made in the new factory which allows for better tolerances, these cars are still mostly hand built. I feel things like this are part of the charm of the brand but I understand those that disagree.

Get a good test of either model you consider = V6 or i4. They are different in character but the i4 is bit more torque available and has a nice turbo punch that all might not like with a touch of lag. I passed on one here in Germany that discounted a nice amount. No reason to pay full price, there a few 'orphan' models in the USA from what I read online= those that had deposits and waited but the cars were delayed in the States.

I would get the 4cyl as all the other Lotus' I owned in the past were Esprit Turbo's 83, 86 and 94 models. I considered a V8 Esprit but passed and moved in to different makes. My wife tested the 4cyl in August and we both liked it but she prefers to test the V6 soon. No rush as winter is here and they are not selling quickly.

Lotus has also been seeing issues with sales overall and has layed off 200 staff recently The electric models are not selling well and face competition of course.

I peruse this site which is more US centered - https://www.lotustalk.com/forums/lotus-emira.488/

This site is good as well with members from around different parts of the world.

There are known issues with a myriad of software updates to address and a few mechanical issues as well. Lotus expanded production at a rapid pace with Geely (China - owns Volvo) and had to hire new production staff. The Emira launch has been noted as problematic to say the least. No reason to rush into this at all.

The depreciation on the car here in Europe is notable and very much so in the UK.

This is a US model gent with his issues early on lol. Im not so sure the dealer did a good pre sale exam of the car. No not all cars are in this condition new, but this is a bit much in my opinion.

Thank you for the very detailed and accurate advice. I really appreciate it and it will be definitely helpful for anyone considering the Emira.

I have tested both versions of the car multiple times and while you're right that the i4 is quicker that's not really what I'm looking for (plus no manual transmission). The character and driving experience of the v6 supercharged model is really what I'm drawn to. It has a sense of theatre to it that the i4 (and Supra) lack. If dollar for dollar speed was my goal I'd be keeping the Supra. And if precise mechanical perfection was my goal I'd be looking at Porsche.

As for finding an orphaned model, believe me I've been keeping my eyes open. Not many have come up around me in the last 8 months. This is going to be a forever car for me though so paying a slight premium to order the exact spec I want isn't a deal breaker.

Again thank you for the very sound advice and I hope you are able to test the V6 soon. The sound of the supercharger in your ear is something else.

I have alot of time in the Evora with the same power unit. Its a good machine. I like the balance of the i4 and DCT. Parts support for the i4 is not a problem over all here. They are both fun and my mind is open to the V6 as well. Probably off to the Black Forest dealer South of Stuttgart for a test soon. Im lucky as a very good Lotus dealer is found both here near home and 1 near work. Thats critical for a car like Lotus which has limited dealers around the world.
