Hey mark i know you like AI but it can't invent stats out of thin air, especially if the model is only trained with data up until a certain point in time.

Some models can skim webpages or PDFs that you upload. You should definitely include that information in your prompt, otherwise it will try to invent "something" like when take an exam and don't know the answer, so you put something to sound smart.

A better prompt would be something like "here is a technical training manual for the gen 3 b58 (pdf/url1). Please compare the engine to the older model provided here (pdf/url2)."

Some models can only do one retrieval per prompt, so you will need to do it in two steps

If you're unsure of whether the AI model you're using has the ability to do a reteival, just ask it.

Also... "In short, oil is the car forum equivalent of a never-ending campfire: easy to start, everyone has an opinion, and no one ever agrees on how to keep it burning best." LMAO

I believe this is a correct summary of the B58 situation. 6-port Gen 3 not yet seen, but we can infer its probable engine code from the established pattern.

Bolded engine codes are the Supra.

I did not say it's unseen. The table clearly states that Gen 3 = TU2 = in a 2-port engine code, shipping in vehicles today. We have not seen the 6-port Gen 3, presuming BMW intends to make one.

Yeah they can vary quite a bit. Why I put it up on the top which model I was using. Not hiding anything. They definitely can be all over the place. I was trying Anthropic’s advanced AI model. When using ones at my work, they only reference medical journals and even then the findings vary greatly. X drug or procedure is far superior to Y and vice versa. They each have their pluses and minuses and the ability to interpret the data is still up to the user ofc. Appreciate y’all’s input!

Is there one you recommend or use explicitly for cars? Ones with the ability to cite references are definitely more credible and having links to go to the sources they are using is definitely helpful.

seems less and less likely. they use the mild hybrid system to make a power bump on some cars, but that seems to be it.

Agree with this assessment. There's no economic incentive for a 6-port TU2 anymore.
