How was the fitment? Just wondering if you did a dry fit before sending it to paint?

Still in box - the shop will work it into schedule, then will for sure test fit to see what, if any, sanding or other prep is needed for proper fitment before paint and install

Still working on test fitting... hardware box shipped separately, arrives Friday. Needing to decide what to do with the underside of the hatch where the bolts come through as they are just naked bolts and not hidden beneath any sort of trim piece. Thinking about just using rubber bolt caps. I have not seen the wing or the car, but am Facetiming my body guy tomorrow to discuss options.

Honestly it was lazy of they to drill through the trim. Should see if the trim can be removed and hide it under the trim.

I haven't been with the car in a while, so don't recall what trim is on the underside.

Agreed, I took my Seibon spoiler to a body shop to install with that in mind but when I got it back I saw the screws drilled thru. Maybe I was so sick of waiting 4 months to get the spoiler delivered that at that point I just didn't care lol. Noob question but how do these rubber caps attach without falling off? Might have to look into that as a cheap way to professionalize it

Some pretty good info here - at 17:33 he explains the issue with the trim and that it is not removable. I'll figure out a way to clean it up with some kind of rubber/plastic plug or cover.

Here's a photo Streethunter just sent me - not too bad, esp if we paint to match the trim.

you could use those little plastic bolt caps over them and it would look more OEM too.

Okay, just talked to my installer guys and they are going to tweak the install that will result in a higher quality fit and finish and be less impervious to cracking and water intrusion. They've been doing custom work like this for 30 years (installed tons of wings in the 90's...) and know how to do things right. I told them to include photos as they go, and I will share here. It will take a bit longer, and cost a bit more, but it's the only way I would proceed.
