Interested in hearing fellow owners’ experiences with both options. I originally opted for the basic version. And while I do find the extra noises fun, I want to go with the option that might be better for keeping things cooler. I know conventional wisdom says that closed box intake is better at keeping hot air out, I want to know it does indeed make a big difference for this specific intake.

For context, I do plan to track my car so it is imperative that I pick the option that will serve my needs best. I know there are bolt on parts that can keep things cool. But I just want to hear some opinions on this. TIA

It won’t make a difference which one you get. So…. get the one that looks best to you. Some say they sound good too, if your exhaust isn’t too loud 😉

since you look like you track your car, I want to know if you’ve done any cooling mods. Do you have an opened or closed intake?

If you want cooler temps would get the box.

There are intakes that have box and increase intake noises like MST/MAD/Kyostar or Armaspeed.

Aftermarket turbo heatshield would be helpful as well.

I do track. Although it’s been a while. I take 6-7 months off each year down here in schweaty FloRida. I have an aftermarket heat exchanger, cold air intake and other minor cooling mods. I doubt they do much. The only real benefits I’ve seen are from people with aftermarket manifolds.

No box = more noise but more heat soak. Pick your poison.
