Any performance benefits. I know these engines don't need a BOV. All for sound? Here’s another fly by that’s similar but I think my son who’s recording captures it a bit better. Lol.

No performance benefits at all as far as I can tell. It’s just for the cool factor of HKS and the sound in my opinion. Lol.Any performance benefits. I know these engines don't need a BOV. All for sound?
do you mind going into a bit more detail ? I wanna add this BOV so bad but the install seems insaneAlso, for anybody wondering, the install isn’t that bad. I made it even simpler on myself by not taking apart my entire center console and instead I used a fuse tap at the passenger footwell fuse box to get power and ground.
Sure no problem but my disclaimer is do this at your own risk. I am not responsible for whatever you do to your car.do you mind going into a bit more detail ? I wanna add this BOV so bad but the install seems insane
I used two 10amp fuses. They are the larger size, not the minisHey bud,
I m gonna be doing the install. What type of fuse did you use? Size and Amps.
Because a typical BOV is operated by the pressure differential between the air before and after the throttle plate. Release the throttle, throttle plate closes, manifold goes into vacuum and “pulls” the BOV open. The B58 doesn’t use a throttle plate though, when you let off the throttle nothing closes and the manifold doesn’t go into vacuum. Without manifold vacuum a traditional BOV would never open, so this one has to be operated electronically. That is the first time I’ve seen the whole kit… why are there so many electronic parts and so much wiring for a mechanical bov? That’s a bit daunting. Haha
I understand how a BOV works, but I’ve seen quite a few installed on Supras that work fine without all of the extra electronics… hence my confusion.Because a typical BOV is operated by the pressure differential between the air before and after the throttle plate. Thanks bro. Any issues or recommendations? Did you still have to take apart thing the center console at all or no? Also cold air intake had to come out?I used two 10amp fuses. They are the larger size, not the minis
Yes the cold air intake has to come out so you can remove either the factory charge pipe or if you already had an aftermarket one. Thanks bro. Any issues or recommendations? Did you still have to take apart thing the center console at all or no? Also cold air intake had to come out?
Was about to ask you all this on instagram! I just got mine in. Probably install next weekend. Thanks for the info!!Sure no problem but my disclaimer is do this at your own risk. I am not responsible for whatever you do to your car.
That being said, if you use a fuse tap on F47 of this fuse diagram to get your power, then just ground the black wire to a nearby bolt, you’ll be able to power the HKS controller. Based on other threads here on the forum, F47 is one of the locations that turns off completely after 6 minutes so there is no worry of draining your battery. Then just follow the instructions with the orange and blue wire.
