I just installed a new steering wheel on my 22. Before I fully seated the airbag again, I connected the negative terminal to make sure that was good, it was. I disconnected the terminal and installed the airbag. When I went to connect the terminal again, the horn wouldn’t shut off. I disconnected the terminal and waited a bit. Went back out, reconnected and everything was good. Started the car, maybe made it four feet out of the garage and the horn wouldn’t stop again. Backed it up, disconnected the terminal again. I have a feeling I have to remove the airbag again, are there any other answers before I start this PITA removal again?

At least it looks good sitting in the garage.

Others have had this issue after a wheel change. I think it was down to a connector not fully seated but not 100%. Search the old threads and check my response.

After installing a new steering wheel, I had the horn go off every time I made a right turn. It went away after I removed the airbag and made sure all wires were properly connected.

Just wanted to add my experience. Recently swapped out the steering wheel (for a second time) and ran into this same issue with the horn on blast when I reconnected the battery. Turns out I had stripped and grounded out one of the wires when re-installing. Covered it up with some electrical tape and all is well.
