Well if you keep missing the second gear gate then I guess you've got a way to go to being "accomplished". Pretty good argument in my mind as to why you should use it.
I guess your argument is that WRC drivers are unaccomplished because they have paddle shifters and throttle blippers for the downshifts.

Yeah I agree with you - from the input I've received on this issue it seems there is nothing wrong with my car, I just need to adjust my skillset - working on it!

But yes I do think WRC drivers need to go back to unassisted manuals and until they do I won't really have much respect for them lol :flame:

I haven't had many issues with the 3->2 downshift but I occasionally had issues with the 1->2 up-shift during aggressive shifts while the car is seeing some lateral load i.e. in an autocross setting. I'm 99% convinced I was just getting snagged on the reverse lockout as well. If you're not pulling the shifter perfectly straight backwards and are pulling it even slightly towards the driver, that's all it takes to get snagged.
