Stock 2020. I flashed stage 1 MHD. It pulls much harder, feels great, throttle mapping could be better but enjoying it.

When I'm driving hard on the backroads I will suddenly lose power in the higher revs, like slower than stock. Thought maybe it was an IAT thing so I'll let it chill a while while driving, but the only way it goes back to stage 1 power is if I power cycle the engine or reflash the tune. Never gotten any codes or warnings when this happens.

Very new to this so if logs are needed walk me through it please. Only had the a handful of times, maybe 3 times in the last 2 weeks.

Will need to see logs to diagnose, like trying to guess why you have a CEL without the code. Re-create problem and someone here should be able to help with the logs. Also any mods at all? Even an intake?

Hello all, if you have this same issue the problem is your fuel quality throwing the DME into limp mode. Add 2 gallons of E or install the flex fuel kit :)

You mean you can’t run regular gas (93 octane) or did you purchase the MAP for flex fuel only? Iā€˜m assuming people can buy a map for regular fuel w/out needing a flex fuel kit. Thanks Josh!

Stage 1 can’t be used with 93 octane? What gas did you have in the car?

I don’t have the tune (yet). But thought I could run 93 O, with a catless downpipe & be okay with that alone. I really want to keep it as easy (fun for me) as possible using pump gas only.

You can run 93 on the OTS maps just fine. We would need to see logs to see why the car is slowing itself down on the high rpm’s. The guy above is just mentioning that the quality of fuel can be one of the reasons

Yep 93 works fine but always run logs and look for cylinder timing corrections. A few degrees can be normal but anything excessive is a red flag. You can either keep using 93 and run the 91 tune, or do what I did and install the flex fuel kit. Added a shit ton of power and I have 0 timing corrections at all. E40 is the most insane experience you can have and still be stock

Thx Josh. I bet it’s a blast! I’ve got a buddy that for the life of him can’t understand why I don’t run meth. He owns about 6 really high end cars & obviously has way more time, patience, knowledge and money than I do ?

I came from a RX8, S2K and MX5 & think this car is fast as ?. I couldn’t imagine this bad boi with a nice manifold and MDH tune on plain old gas. I know I can knock my times down lower with better driving & focusing on that 1st. That’s my excuse anyway for not putting more coin in & time down with her. Hope you get a crap ton of reliable miles outta her on track. Keep us all posted!
