Hello, just wondering if anyone has this noise when turning on the AC? Is this normal or should I get it checked out?
Mine is a ‘25 3.0 Premium MT with 1600kms.

Only happens whenever I turn the AC on and stops after ~10 seconds. AC blows pretty cold still I don’t think it’s warmer?

Thanks

No idea I'm afraid. My climate control is never turned off. Why do you turn yours on and off?

I could not hear what you were pointing out.. I too just leave climate control on all the time. AC condensor should be cycled routinely anyway.

I’m up in Canada and only really need the AC during the summer. The climate control is usually on throughout the year with no sounds. I just recently had to use the ac and noticed this hissing sound upon turning on the ac system (bottom right button on dash)

The fan was on a low setting and I pressed the A/C button at 3 seconds into the video. You can hear me press the button and then that “hissing” noise goes for 10 seconds before going quiet again.

It raises an interesting point for me. I'm under the impression that the A/C system is looking for a target cabin temp say for example 22 deg C. With the A/C on and the OAT say 15deg C then the Climate Control system will simple switch the A/C pump off and use engine system heat to achieve the desired cabin temp. So the A/C on or off makes no difference, the CC system takes car of this. If left selected "on" the advantage is that if you need demist then the A/C is available for that. If you go full throttle then the A/C is automatically selected OFF for the period of WOT. The only reason I can see for selecting the A/C off is to provide ambient ventilation for whatever reason.
I wouldn't worry about your transient noise unless the a/c system is operating below par which you can easily check yourself and if it is then the first thing to do would be a refrigerant system qty check/purge and fill and leak check.
I guess it's possible the system wasn't charged correctly during the cars manufacture as it's a new car but unless the system is operating outside it's specs then the dealer won't be interested.

Perhaps I have too much ambient noise where I was, but minor hissing noise is normal on any AC when the condenser is running. It would hiss for like 10 sec as you said, and then quiet... then hiss again when air needs to be re-cooled. Same with refrigerators.. at least the janky kind I use..
